Boko Haram: More than State of Emergency urgently Needed - David Mark

The  President of the Nigeria Senate, Senator David Mark has called for a clear, unambiguous and decisive military response from the Government, beyond the imposition of a state of emergency against  the Boko Haram Insurgents in the North-Eastern region of he Country.”

Mark said an urgent military action, beyond the state of emergency must be put in place at the moment to end the war against Boko Haram Islamist Fighters. He made the call in a speech at the resumption of plenary session on Wednesday adding that it is clear Nigeria state is at war with Boko Haram insurgents.

According to him; “The enemy has clearly and unequivocally served the nation notice of its vile intentions and therefore, a clear, unambiguous and decisive military response from the Government, beyond the imposition of a state of emergency, is urgently required in this circumstance.”

The Nigerian President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has once again raises the alarm over the various killings and incessant attacks that have overshadow the Image of the country, raging from the concurrent Boko Haram attacks and killing of innocent people in the Nigeria's North Eastern states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa to the North Central , where Fulani Herdsmen and Tiv peoples are also engaging themselves bloody clashes that have claimed many live while hundreds of people have  been displaced in the affected states

These states include Benue, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Traba, Plateau and Zamfara. Mark through his twitter page says 'it is inhuman to take another man’s life just because you are unhappy with a situation.'

David Mark Takes Boko Haram Case To UN

Following the seemly endless attacks by the Islamist Boko Haram fighters, the Nigeria President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has asked the United Nations (UN) to intervene and indeed rescue Nigeria from the clutches of Boko Haram insurgency that is gradually bringing the nation to its kneels.

Mark, who admitted before the visiting deputy secretary-general of Unite Nations , Mr Jan Eliasson, that the adverse security challenges facing Nigeria demands support and assistance from the United Nations.
