Why Love Fails

Recently, I came in contact with the works of the great humanistic philosopher and psychologist Erich Fromm and Belgian psychotherapist and writer Esther Perel. These two masters gave life to my thoughts. In my daily facebook existence, the most advise I give inbox is on love, relationships and marriage. I think I should be an advise columnist :-D

The main reason why love often fails is our failure to understand and accept the paradoxes of love.

She was just under a year old. Nine, ten, or eleven months old. I was home alone, playing with her on the bed. Hot summer month. I was in.my shorts, she in her diaper. Somehow I fell asleep. She fell asleep too on my chest.

Then she did her business in her diaper. It was one of those semi - watery generous offers. You wonder how such a mountainous quantity of poo left such a little body. The poo woke her. I was snoring away. How she slid from my chest, undid her diaper, and proceeded to turn that poo into Daddy's face cleansing mud, I cannot tell to this day. All I know is I woke up and my face, neck, and chest were covered in poo.

INSPIRATIONAL: WHEN MARRIAGE GROWS OLD

It is the joy of every child seeing their old parents living in harmony, relating as if they just married yesterday. Marriage is always sweet at old age especially when the couples maintain the integrity and standard of marriage. Before marriage grows old as expected, many waters might have passed under the bridge. 

The time of sacrifices are uncountable, what of several sleepless night due to one’s spouse behavior, the time you will go on compulsory fasting when you cannot put something on the table for your children to eat, the rolling tears when the challenge seems unending, threat of intruder is also there, families and in-laws disagreements are not left out, disappointment and heartbroken will also show up, fear of unknown future etc. likewise, we have time of joy and happiness. ,

The experiences of marriage before it grows old is not always smooth, but if you can open your mind, it is a school of life that worth passing through.

Christ Embassy Queries – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome‘s marriage to his wife, Anita Oyakhilome has begun to draw concern from the members of Christ Embassy Church in the UK. 

The concerned UK members have also gone on to create a Facebook page demanding to know the whereabouts of Rev. Anita Oyakhilome, the wife of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

The Boko Haram jihadis who kidnapped more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls two weeks ago say they are “willing to consider” the release of those who have not already been trafficked abroad and sold into marriage.

The girls’ abductors, who have been in regular direct contact with a government intermediary, also report that three of their teenaged captives have died – although they did not state how this happened. Eighteen others, they say, are now sick.

The intermediary told Channel 4 News that the al-Qaeda-affiliated group, Boko Haram, has threatened to kill the remaining hostages if there is any attempt by the Nigerian military to rescue the girls. Meanwhile in the capital Abuja, the Nigerian government is coming under intense public pressure to secure the girls’ release.

On Wednesday, the government admitted for the first time that it had officially engaged the services of the negotiator. It declined to reveal his identity. He has told Channel 4 News that he wishes to remain anonymous for reasons of personal security.

Ibadan Customary Court grants wife divorce over husband’s impotence

A Customary Court in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital has on Wednesday dissolved the four-year-old marriage between Lateef Amzat and his wife, Romoke, over the impotence of the husband. The Presiding President of the court, Chief Henric Agbaje, said that he had no option than to dissolve the marriage because there was no longer love between the duo.

Presiding judge said that the evidence before the court showed that the couple were no longer interested in the marriage, saying that the court had previously gave the couple two weeks of grace to resolve their differences amicably but they did not reach any accord. “Therefore, in the interest of peace and order, I pronounce the marriage dissolved since both parties are willing to part ways.
