POLITICAL LESSON 1- YORUBA PEOPLE

I hope the other regions of Nigeria are beginning to learn some lessons about Yoruba.
Do not be excited when you ride on the support of the Yoruba people to office, especially Presidency.

They are fiercely loyal to causes they believe in, but they will demand accountability and quick result. They can get very impatient with mediocrity and can bring down what they built for one year in one minute if they perceived injustice.

How I wish my dad has told me the above truth instead of telling me about his love for Nigeria.

How I wish the parents of Gani Fawehinmi, Ken Saro-Wiwa, Dele Giwa, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Olisa Agbakoba and Fela Anikulapo have also told them the above truth.

You don't bother about a nation where the oppressed vehemently defend their oppressors always.

You don't bother about a nation where Suffering and Smiling,, Lack of History, Pretence, Double-Standard and Propaganda have been entrenched forever.

Rowdy Session As Confab Delegates Reject Honour For Abiola …say no to immunity clause

Echoes of the June 12, 1993 presidential election reverberated at the National Conference on Thursday when a motion seeking national recognition for the presumed winner of the poll, the late Chief Moshood Abiola, was moved at the confab.

The motion, which was moved by Orok Duke, saw the delegates divided along regional lines as those from the southern Nigeria favoured the motion while those from the North rejected it.

Those who were opposed to the motion, led by a representative of the civil society, Mallam Nasir Kura, were shouting “no!, no!”

Better late than never some would say, how honourable it would have been if Obasanjo had made this statement whilst he was President and honoured M.K.O Abiola accordingly. Maybe Obasanjo has come to accept the bitter reality that June 12 is symbolic and without the sacrifices of the likes of Abiola, he would never have returned to power in 1999.

But, this isn’t about the man who 'blessed' Nigeria with 'Goodluck', but something far greater. It is about sacrifices and defending our unity.

Quoting the words of another great man in our history, a supporter of the June 12 cause and the first man to move the motion for Nigeria's independence;

Obama may be innocent, but America as a country is not. While not exonerating the incapacitation of our leaders as well as the kind of politics our politicians plays with lives of citizens, it is key to note that the powerful role Nigeria is playing in the Africa polity ranging from liberating South Africa to freedom, providing big brother in the resolution of Liberia crisis and many other parts of Africa and the world at large, the America seem to see Nigeria as a threat to their domineering powerful role in all parts of the world. They use their secret bad guys to create terrorists directing them for specific action and tried to play international politics to seek for their assistance.
