According to the reports by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, confirmed that this afternoon, combined team of Nigeria policemen maintaining security duties at the entrance of Borno State Government Secretariat, (which was known as Musa Usman Secretariat) in Maiduguri, intercepted and prevented a male suicide bomber from entering to attack workers based on suspicion.
Unfortunately, in the process of stopping him, he detonated the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on his body, instantly killing himself, a policeman and critically injuring another policeman that stopped him from gaining entry into the Secretariat Complex.

TROOPS CARRY OUT SPECIAL OPERATION, RESCUED 400 PERSONS HELD HOSTAGE BY BOKO HARAM
Thwe Nigerian Troops fighting the Boko Haram terrorists have in a special operation rescued over 400 persons held hostaged by the militants
In a statement by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the troops of 7 Division based on information received, conducted a special operation at Chingurimi, Walasa and Masa villages which were believed to have large concentration of abducted women and children were held hostages by the Boko Haram terrorists on Wednesday 4th May 2016.
The troops killed quite a number of Boko Haram terrorists and rescued 17 women, an old man and 24 children at the area. They also recovered 1 AK-47 rifle, 6 rounds of 7.62mm, 295 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO), 12 Dane Guns, 21 unserviceable mobile telephone handsets and one serviceable as well as150 different SIM cards.

War Against Insurgents: TROOPS DISCOVER AND DESTROY BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS ADMINISTRATIVE BASE (+Pictures)
At the early hours of today, Wednesday 4th May 2016, troops of 156 Task Force Battalion, 29 Task Force Brigade, assisted by Civilian JTF embarked on a long range patrol aimed at clearing remnants of Boko Haram terrorists at Ngula and Kukuruk villages in Alagarno general area.
Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director Army Public Relations in a satatement said the troops encountered and engaged surprised elements of Boko Haram terrorists in a gun battle. The terrorists escaped leaving trails of blood from gun shot injuries they sustained.

War Against Insurgency: UPDATE ON OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE - GWOZA RETURNED HOME IN 26 VEHICLES

As you are aware, Nigerian troops in the north eastern part of the country under the auspices of Operation LAFIYA DOLE have been working round the clock to clear the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in their hideouts. Said the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman in his latest statement released to the public today. Consequently, various formations and units have embarked on clearance operations that ranged from outright offensive operations, to raids, cordon and search operations and patrols.
He added: You may recall that a soldier was wounded during an offensive operation by 21 Brigade yesterday, we regret to inform you that he died this morning. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.
The 22 Brigade on its part, has conducted clearance operations in which it cleared 4 towns and villages of Boko Haram terrorists. In the process, they killed 3 Boko Haram terrorists, while 9 of them that hid in a fox holes and dug outs were found out and captured. The troops also recovered weapons and rescued 400 persons held hostages by the terrorists. This is in addition to the recovery and handing over of 300 cows rustled by the terrorists.

Nigerian Troops Avert a Ctastrophic Sucide Bombing in Borno state, Sucide Bomber Killed Self (GRAPHIC)
The Nigeria Army has revealed how the troops of 7 Division Garrison Forward Operation Base (FOB), today averted yet another suicide bombing catastrophe on Ummarari community by suspected Boko Haram terrorist at about 7.00am this morning.

Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman said the suicide bomber was intercepted by the vigilant troops and the Civilian JTF while making attempt to enter the village to detonate his dangerous cargo on innocent persons in the Ummarari.
The suicide bomber detonated the strapped Improvised Explosive Device (IED) vest on his body, thus killing himself instantly when he was forced to halt based on suspicion that he was carrying suicide bombing material.
Thankfully, there was no any other casualty other than the suspected suicide bomber. Troops along with the Civilian JTF at the village are now combing the surrounding area to forestall further attacks and clear the environment of likely remnants of Boko Haram terrorists hibernating. Usman said.

UPDATE: BOKO HARAM ATTACK ON 113 BATTALION, HEAVY CASUALTIES ON BOTH SIDE
"Please recall that Boko Haram terrorists attacked our troops location at Kareto, northern Borno State this morning (M0nday). The troops successfully repelled the attack and killed quite a number of the terrorists. The situation has since been brought under control and reinforcement sent."
"So far our troops had 2 officers and 22 soldiers wounded in action. All of them have been evacuated to Military Hospital Maiduguri where they are receiving treatment."
"Thank you for your kind prayers, support, cooperation and understanding."
