The Nigerian Troops overpowered the Boko Haram insurgents and destroyed their logistics in the dreaded sambisa forest in Borno state says the commander of the Opration Lafiya Dole Theatre Centre in Maiduguri!

It was a combined opreations of both the ground and air troops of Nigerian Soldiers and Airforce.

The Teathre Commander, Maj. Gen Iraebor authritatevely confirmed that theNigerian Troops have won the war against against the Boko Haram.

According to him: " We have won the war only that we need to win the peace to the region"

Many items and weapons of the Islamist Terrorists including the one Holy Quran was recovered from Camp Zairo  which is regarded as the last stronghood of the Boko Baram in Borno state.

How Civilian JTF Kill 2 suicide bombers in Maiduguri

Around 6:45am today, 2 suicide bombers were shot dead by the Civilian JTF in Maiduguri, Borno state.

The two male suicide bombers who strapped IEDs on the bodies stormed Kusari, near CBN Staff Quarters and heading to a mosque in the area.

However, they were shot and killed before they could detonate the devices.

TROOPS CARRY OUT SPECIAL OPERATION, RESCUED 400 PERSONS HELD HOSTAGE BY BOKO HARAM

Thwe Nigerian Troops fighting the Boko Haram terrorists have in a special operation rescued over 400 persons held hostaged by the militants

In a statement by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the troops of 7 Division based on information received, conducted a special operation at Chingurimi, Walasa and Masa villages which were believed to have large concentration of abducted women and children were held hostages by the Boko Haram terrorists on Wednesday 4th May 2016.

The troops killed quite a number of Boko Haram terrorists and rescued 17 women, an old man and 24 children at the area. They also recovered 1 AK-47 rifle, 6 rounds of 7.62mm, 295 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO), 12 Dane Guns, 21 unserviceable mobile telephone handsets and one serviceable as well as150 different SIM cards.

War Against Insurgency: TROOPS PREEMPT BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS ATTACK IN BORNO STATE - See what Happened!!!

Nigerian Troops of 3 Battalion 22 Brigade, have on Sunday carried out a successful pre-emptive strike to foil a planned Boko Haram terrorists attack on the military and innocent civilians around Wunbi in Kala Balge Local Government Area of Borno State.

Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman who is the Acting Director Army Public Relations confirmed that the pre-emptive attack was carried out after information was received about the devilish intention and location of the terrorists. While on a patrol to foil the attack, Nigerian troops encountered the terrorists at Tatakura village 20km South West of Wumbi. There was heavy exchange of fire at the end of which 9 Boko Haram terrorists were killed.


Troops captured 3 AK-47 rifles, 1 Fabrique Nationale rifle, 1 General Purpose Machine Gun, a 60mm Mortar Tube, 1 Rocket Propelled Grenade 7 (RPG 7) Tube, 1 G3-Machine Gun and 7 Fabrique Nationale Magazines. Other recovered items also included 108 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 1 Energa grenade, an RPG 7 Bomb as well as three 60mm mortar bombs and 2 motor cycles.

Colonel Usman  also said: "Unfortunately, 6 of our troops sustained gunshot wounds and have been evacuated for treatment. They are all in stable condition and responding to treatment."

WAR AGAINST INSURGENCY: NIGERIAN TROOPS INTENSIFY CLEARANCE OPERATIONS IN NORTH EAST

Nigerian troops have continuously intensified clearance operations of the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in the North East under the auspices of Operation LAFIYA DOLE.

It is in this vein that troops of 231, 331 Battalions and elements of Armed Forces Special Forces Battalion, accompanied by some vigilantes, conducted a clearance operation at Doksa village aimed at clearing the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists hiding in the area.

The team, acccording to Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman who is the Acting Director Army Public Relations, cleared all the routes in the general area as well as suspected hideouts of the Boko Haram terrorists before arriving and clearing the terrorists out of their enclaves in Doksa 1, 2, and 3, as well as Sabon Garin Doksa.

He said "the troops also dominated the area with heavy artillery shelling against other registered locations of Boko Haram terrorists at Buga Dam, Golgore and Lariski villages."

The Boko Haram casualties are enormous and troops have also intensified shelling other hideouts.

INSURGENCY: TROOPS DISCOVER BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS DUMPING PITS

The Nigerian Troops have intensified efforts to clear the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in various parts of the north east through various military operations on daily basis.
It is in line with this that troops of 7 Division Strike Group Team B attached to 22 Brigade embarked on combination of foot and mobile fighting patrols on daily basis to deny the Boko Haram terrorists freedom of action in their area of operations.

On Thursday, 28th April 2016, they embarked on such efforts in the general area of Bogoro, Duguno 1, Duguno 2 and 3. However, on reaching Mbaraka, they encountered some elements of the Boko Haram terrorists who engaged the patrol team in a gun battle.

DEADLY: ARMY TROOPS AMBUSH ESCAPING BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS

At the early hours of today, Sunday 24th April 2016, troops of 81 Battalion and some elements of 251 Task Force Battalion, 25 Brigade, ambushed suspected Boko Haram terrorists escaping from Sambisa forest to Fulawani village. 

The ambushed terrorists were trying to link up with other terrorists or members of their families to relocate to other places.

It will be recalled that the troops intercepted a group of women and children yesterday who claimed to have escaped from the terrorists enclave in Sambisa forest.

UPDATE: BOKO HARAM ATTACK ON 113 BATTALION, HEAVY CASUALTIES ON BOTH SIDE

"Please recall that Boko Haram terrorists attacked our troops location at Kareto, northern Borno State this morning (M0nday). The troops successfully repelled the attack and killed quite a number of the terrorists. The situation has since been brought under control and reinforcement sent."

"So far our troops had 2 officers and 22 soldiers wounded in action. All of them have been evacuated to Military Hospital Maiduguri where they are receiving treatment."

Operation Lafiya Dole: Troops clear IEDs along Borno road

Men of the Nigerian Troops fighting Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East said they cleared Improvised Explosive Devices buried along the road linking new Marte, Dogongida and Kerenowa in Borno state.

According to a statement issued by Tukur Gusau, the Media Coordinator of Operation Lafiya Dole, in Maiduguri on Wednesday. “The 5 Brigade of the Nigerian Army after clearing Boko Haram terrorist camps in Kerenowa in Borno, has also embarked on clearance of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) buried along the road that links New Marte-Dogongida-Kerenowa in the state.

“The troops have also been working tirelessly to destroy all IEDs-making facilities found in the area,” Mr. Gusau said. Adding that the troops had also arrested five suspected terrorists in another operation in Gudunbali in Baga Local Government Area.

The Nigerian troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole fighting Boko Haram terrorists in the North East has confirmed an ambushed  against the fleeing terrorists who are crossing to the dreaded Sambisa Forest. 

In a statement by the Acting Director Army Public Relations,Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman said troops who laid the ambush at the Boko Haram crossing point into Sambisa Forest at Iza engaged the terrorists who succumbed to the superior firepower of troops and fled.

According to him, at the end of the encounter two of the terrorists were killed, some abandoned their supplies and fled, one general purpose machine gun and one AK47 rifle were captured. Other items abandoned by the terrorists were three bicycles, provisions including maggi, potash, peanut and onions

Defence Headquarters (DHQ) says no attack on Maiduguri metropolis as widely reported today

Defense Headquarters has refuted reports in the media that terrorists launched an attack on Maiduguri this morning, May 3, 2014.

In a statement signed by Major General Chris Olukolade released to the media today, May 3, 2014, the Nigerian military said that troops received a distress call in the early hours of the morning and launched a counter attack using mortar shells on a group of terrorists.

The statement reads:

There was no attack on Maiduguri metropolis as widely reported this morning by some media outlets especially a foreign television channel.  Rather, on receiving distress call, troops at about 2am this morning launched a counter attack using mainly mortar shells on a group of terrorists who had attacked and killed four persons in Margimari village and other settlements in the outskirts of Maiduguri.  There was no fighting or attack around the University or any barrack in Maiduguri either, as reported.

Nigeria Troops arrest 31 fleeing Boko Haram fighters attempting t cross fromTaraba and Adamawa into Cameroun

The Special Forces of the multinational Army have arrested 31 Boko Haram fighters who were attempting to flee the country through Taraba and Adamawa in to Cameroun.

This group of Boko Haram terrorists attempting to escape into Cameroon through Taraba and Gumti in Adamawa State have come under heavy fire from troops on patrol of the area in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.

Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, said on Thursday that one of those arrested was a mercenary claiming to be a citizen Chad and Burkina Faso.

Boko Haram: Army Recovers Armoury And Money From Terrorists In Lake Chad

The Nigerian Troops have again captured a massive armoury of arms and ammunition sited in one of the camps of Boko Haram  terrorists yesterday night in the ongoing counter terrorists military campaign. 

Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Chris Olukolade  made this known in a statement to the public.

According to him, “the large quantities of weapons recovered in the raid are still being evacuated from the scene of the night raid where several terrorists died.
