Based on information reports of presence of suspected elements of Boko Haram terrorists, today, troops of 212 Battalion and 233 Battalion, 29 Task Force Brigade, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, in conjunction with elements of Civilian JTF, successfully carried out clearance operations at Lawanti, Musari, Bori and Gonizalari towns in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State.

TROOPS CLEAR BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN NGOSHE AND GAVA - ARMY
Today, Tuesday 28th June 2016, troops of 121 Task Force Battalion, 26 Task Force Brigade, accompanied by a large number of Civilian JTF from Gwoza, embarked on a very aggressive patrol that dislodged remnants Boko Haram terrorists hibernating at Ngoshe and Gava villages, located close to Gwoza on the mountainous terrain.
The essence of the robust patrol which was supported by the Nigeria Air Force and Cameroonian Defence Forces who provided air cover and real time Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance, was to clear the remnants of the terrorists hiding in the mountainous area and rescue all persons held hostages by the Boko Haram terrorists.
While advancing towards their objective in Ngoshe, the patrol team encountered Boko Haram terrorists. They have to clear the delay positions staged by the terrorists through the support of the Nigeria Air Force fighter jets.

HOW TROOPS CLEAR BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS HIDEOUTS AT MATARI AND KAIDIRI - COL. USMAN
A joint patrol team of Sector 1 of 27 Task Force Brigade and Army Headquarters Strike Group yesterdat (22nd June, 2016) cleared Boko Haram terrorists enclaves in Buhari, Matari and Kaidiri villages located some kilometres to Damasak, Borno State earlier today.
Unfortunately, the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists at Kaidiri on sighting the patrol team chickened out and withdrew in disarray into Niger Republic with gun shot wounds. The troops pursued them and got 2 Boko Haram terrorists. In addition, they recovered 7 motorcycles and borehole equipment.

OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE: TROOPS KILL 10 BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS AND ARREST 2
Troops of 3 Battalion, 22 Task Force Brigade on Friday 10th June 2016, based on information received that Boko Haram terrorists elements earlier dislodged at Chukungudu and Hausari villages during a recent clearance operations, were migrating towards Muska village in Gamboru Ngala Local Government Area, conducted fighting patrol operations in the general area.
During the encounter, the troops killed 10 Boko Haram terrorists, captured 2 alive and rescued a woman with her baby that were held hostages by the terrorists.
The Acting Director Army Public Relations Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman added that the troops also recovered several equipment, arms and ammunition that include 6 AK-47 rifle magazines, 56 rounds of 7.62m (Special) rounds of ammunitions, 1 bundle of detonating cord, a Manual on how to prepare Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) 2 rifle magazine pouches, a Techno IPad, a Nokia mobile telephone handset and 1 Gionee mobile telephone handset.
Others include 1 Digital Multimetre, 6 SIM cards, 3 Memory cards and 1 Airtel Modem containing memory card also. The troops also recovered a wristwatch, 2 Islamic books, an empty bag and 2 Motorcycles.
The captured terrorists are undergoing preliminary interrogation , while rescued woman and her child are receiving necessary attention pending onward movement to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp.

The patrol team recovered 157 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition and 37 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition.

HOW TROOPS CLEAR SEVEN MORE VILLAGES OF BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS, AFVs ENTERED IED
As the ongoing clearance and rescue operations gained momentum, troops of 28 Task Force Brigade have successfully cleared enclaves of Boko Haram terrorists along Galtha Baba, Galtha Musa, Bulakurma, Shatimari, Chukruk, Bulangaje, and Disa villages.
Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman said during the operation, 1 Boko Haram terrorist was captured alive and 3 motorcycles, bags of grains, their flags and uniforms were recovered. Other items include suicide bomber’s hijab, mobile phone and 1 Dane gun, as well as foodstuffs and cooking utensils.
The troops also rescued 15 persons that were held hostages by the Boko Haram terrorists in the area.

War Against Insurgents: TROOPS DISCOVER AND DESTROY BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS ADMINISTRATIVE BASE (+Pictures)
At the early hours of today, Wednesday 4th May 2016, troops of 156 Task Force Battalion, 29 Task Force Brigade, assisted by Civilian JTF embarked on a long range patrol aimed at clearing remnants of Boko Haram terrorists at Ngula and Kukuruk villages in Alagarno general area.
Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director Army Public Relations in a satatement said the troops encountered and engaged surprised elements of Boko Haram terrorists in a gun battle. The terrorists escaped leaving trails of blood from gun shot injuries they sustained.

War Against Insurgency: UPDATE ON OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE - GWOZA RETURNED HOME IN 26 VEHICLES

As you are aware, Nigerian troops in the north eastern part of the country under the auspices of Operation LAFIYA DOLE have been working round the clock to clear the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in their hideouts. Said the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman in his latest statement released to the public today. Consequently, various formations and units have embarked on clearance operations that ranged from outright offensive operations, to raids, cordon and search operations and patrols.
He added: You may recall that a soldier was wounded during an offensive operation by 21 Brigade yesterday, we regret to inform you that he died this morning. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.
The 22 Brigade on its part, has conducted clearance operations in which it cleared 4 towns and villages of Boko Haram terrorists. In the process, they killed 3 Boko Haram terrorists, while 9 of them that hid in a fox holes and dug outs were found out and captured. The troops also recovered weapons and rescued 400 persons held hostages by the terrorists. This is in addition to the recovery and handing over of 300 cows rustled by the terrorists.

HOW NIGERIAN TROOPS ARREST FOUR BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS KINGPINS - ARMY
Troops of 3 Battalion, of 22 Task Force Brigade have made an unprecedented catch with the arrest of 4 Boko Haram terrorists Ameers (kingpins) at Rann, headquarters of Kala Balge Local Government Area today, Friday 22nd April 2016. The arrested kingpins specialized on various aspects of criminality to sustain the Boko Haram terrorists group in their areas.
According to Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director Army Public Relations , the four terrorists were arrested following a tip off by well meaning members of the public.
He said, subsequently, the troops conducted a cordon and search operation in the general area that led to the apprehension of the terrorist leaders, who contribute to the sustenance of the insurgency through their illegal trade specialization.

LAFIA DOLE: NIGERIAN TROOPS CLEAR BOKO HARAM AMBUSH AND CLEAR GARE
According to the Army Public Relations' Acting Director, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the troops killed all the 3 attackers and also recovered 1 Fabrique Nationale rifle with registration number UE16A86257 and 1G3 rifle with registration number 10f995, as well as 19 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition.
Similarly, some element of the unit stationed in Mayanti encountered 2 fleeing Boko Haram terrorists from the villages cleared yesterday and killed 1 while trying to shot the troops and arrested the other.

MILITARY STATEMENT: Troops Clear More Terrorists Hideout
In continuation with the clearance of the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists, troops of 153 Task Force Brigade, 5 Brigade on Monday had an encounter with terrorists at Musari village on Monday.During the clearance operations, a soldier paid the supreme price, while the troops killed 58 terrorist and recovered 2 hand grenades, 52 motorcycles, several bags of foodstuffs such as beans, onions, sweet potatoes and guinea corn, as well as cartons of fish.
