Military Times: Troops prefer Trump to Clinton - Survey

Active-duty service members prefer Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton by 2-to-1, according to an informal survey released Monday by Military Times.

While unscientific, the results indicate strong support for presumptive Republican presidential nominee, who has come under fire from retired military leaders and prominent members of the foreign policy community for a lack of foreign policy experience and controversial proposals allowing the torture of terrorism suspects.

In the survey of 951 active-duty troops, reservists and National Guardsmen, 54 percent said they would vote for Trump in a match-up against Clinton, the Democratic front-runner. Twenty-five percent said they would vote for Clinton.

And 21 percent said they would not vote at all in that scenario.

Interview: I don't need unified Republicans, Hillary Clinton gonna get hit at approriate time - Trump

Donald Trump is now on ABC’s This Week, in a pre-taped interview with George Stephanopoulos.

The host talks up some of Trump’s achievements: he’s on course to win more votes than George W Bush did in the 2000 primary, and he’s got vice-president Joe Biden warning Democrats not to dismiss the businessman’s chances.

Stephanopoulos sat down with Trump at the airport in Ohama, Nebraska.

Trump lays out his reasoning for why Paul Ryan should support him. “This is what the people want,” he says, before touting some of the people who’ve backed him. “I’ve had so much support, I’ve had support from all the people Paul Ryan works with.”

Hilarious!! - TRUMP'S FIRST DAY AS AMERICAN PRESIDENT - Sent via WhatsApp

Trump's first day in the Oval Office.

First briefing by CIA, Pentagon, FBI:

Trump: We must destroy ISIS immediately.

CIA: We cannot do that, sir. We created them along with Turkey, Saudi, Qatar and others.

Trump: The Democrats created them.

CIA: We created ISIS, sir. You need them or else you would lose funding from the natural gas lobby.

Trump: Stop funding Pakistan. Let India deal with them.

CIA: We can't do that. It is Modi in India and not Manmohan.

Trump: So what?

CIA: Modi will cut Balochistan out of Pakistan.

Running mate for Donald Trump: Here are four names for him to consider

Will Donald Trump ever be “presidential” in the conventional manner we have come to expect?

It’s a path he may never follow. But after his victory in Indiana on Tuesday night, and Ted Cruz’s decision to suspend his campaign, there is now rampant speculation as to what “presidential” will mean should Trump’s executive desk move to the Oval Office.

As with any presidential nominee, the selection of their vice presidential running mate is important because it offers us a window into their thinking.

Trump recently gave some insight into his thoughts on the matter when he told Neil Cavuto on the Fox Business Network: “I would want to choose a politician. I’m a businessman. I don’t think we need two guys like me.”

US Senate blocks Obama’s civil rights nominee

Senate blocks Debo Adegbile to lead DOJ's civil rights division, 47 to 52. 1st defeat of Obama pick under new procedures.

US Senate on Wednesday, filibustered President Obama’s nominee to lead the Justice Department’s civil rights division, with seven Democrats joining Republicans in arguing his past history defending a convicted cop-killer made him the wrong man for the job.

Debo P. Adegbile, who as a lawyer for the NAACP filed a brief arguing that former Black Panther Mumia Abu-Jamal’s murder trial was tainted by racism, is a major blow to Mr. Obama.
