Gov Fayemi congratulates Ayo Fayose on his victory at the Polls, Promises to arrange a meeting with the governor-elect on way forward for Ekiti state

History was made today in Nigeria for the first time a candidate in an election congratulated his opponent on his victory as the All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate in the June 21 governorship election in Ekiti State and incumbent governor, John Kayode Fayemi has congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), governorship candidate, Ayo Fayose for his victory at the polls.

In a statement broadcasted to the people of Ekiti State, Fayemi said he has spoken with Fayose congratulating him on his victory. According to the result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Fayose polled 203,090 votes to defeat Fayemi, who scored 120, 433 votes, while the candidate of the Labour Party, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele scored 18, 135 votes.

On Ekiti election today, Jonathan's Federal Government deployed over 36,000 security agents to Ekiti for the gubernatorial elections. Security sources confirmed that there are 12,340 regular policemen; 26 sniffer dogs; 20 Helicopters; 3170 anti-riot policemen; 4,280 soldiers; 1800 Nigerian secret police operatives and 15,000 civil defense personnel on ground in the state for today's election.

Therefore, are you still asking who is Behind BoKo Haram? So FG have 20 helicopter for one day election that Jonathan needed badly, yet 3 states under state of emergency for over a year does not have Helicopter patrolling except for given food and arms to Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen?

I want Jonathanians to justify the decision of their paymaster to send 36,000 security agents to Ekiti State (A State with a lesser population than each of the troubled States) for today's gubernatorial election when the total number of security agencies deployed to the 3 troubled States in the North East is presently below 36,000.

We would not allow Ekiti State to be turned to a war zone, persons being picked up indiscriminately without any offence are an attack on the generality of Ekiti people. And why would it be that these arrests are targeted at only opposition  APC members and their supporters...?

Nigerian Soldiers Arrest Three With Truck Loads Of Ekiti Election Materials

Nigerian soldiers on Thursday arrested three men conveying a truck load of election materials meant for the gubernatorial elections in Ekiti State. NAN reports that the men were arrested at Itawure Junction near Efon-Alaye, in Efon Local Government Area of the State.
Brigade Commander, 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Brig.-Gen. Aliyu Momoh made the disclosure on Thursday night at media briefing. He said his men, at a checkpoint in Itawure, stopped the men who could not provide satisfactory answers to questions posed to them by the soldiers.

The arrested men were Olufemi Ose, Segun Akanbi and Biodun Erinfolami. NAN reports that the men were said to be driving a Mercedes Benz truck marked Lagos APP 952 XL which has the inscription of Adewole F Odunayo Enterprises on its sides.

Materials found in the vehicle included ballot papers, rubber stamps, ink pads, reflective jackets bearing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
