It would be recalled that the state Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, had in the aftermath of the Zaria bomb blast, banned all manner of streets begging and hawking in the state.
The Kaduna Assembly passed the bill into law after adopting the report on its committee on Markets Development and Judiciary.
The bill, which was passed into law will prohibit street begging, hawking and other related matters in the state will see its enforcement any time soon.
The chairman of the House of Assembly Committee, Hon. Bashir Gatari Idris told reporters after plenary that in the course of studying the bill, they were able to find out that certain provisions need to be amended in the bill in order to take care of lapses that might occur when the law comes into effect.
Any court in the state, according to the bill, shall impose punishments to offenders or even sanction them and should make such orders including the confiscation of any goods or items to be disposed.
