At least 50 killed as soldiers battle Fulani insurgent in Nasarawa
The Nigeria Army deployed to contain the recent Fulani attacks that has claimed over 200 lives and displaced thousands of the Tiv people of Nasarawa and Benue states, Troop on Thursday killed at least 50 Fulani insurgents in Keana local government area of Nasarawa state in a gun duel. In lafia, Fulani insurgents numbering 10 were brought to the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, DASH, Lafia the state capital by a police pickup van and deposited at the mortuary while about 20 others were deposited at the general hospital Keana as well as several others still in the bush.

Threat of More Attacks: Curfew In Makurdi Markets
Following widespread fears that gunmen have planned to unleash terror on Makurdi town, the Benue State government has placed curfew on markets in the metropolis. The secretary to the state government(SSG), Dr David Salifu who announced this yesterday said the situation was prompted by the security challenges and frequent attacks faced by the state. The markets include Wadata, Wurukum and Modern Markets.
According to Salifu, the prohibition of commercial activities is part of government’s security measures to take preventive measures against the attacks. He said the markets should operate between 6am and 7pm every day.

Fulani Herdsmen: Katsina, Zamfara to convene security meeting over attacks

Gusau – As a way to fight crime and incessant attacks on the villages, Katsina State Government said it had concluded arrangement to convene a special security meeting with the neighbouring Zamfara state on the ways forwards.
Disclosing this, Gov. Ibrahim Shema of Kastina state, while in a meeting with his Zamfara counterpart, Gov. Abdulaziz Yari, at the Government House, Gusau, said it become imperative to find a solution to the every day attack on the people of these area that cut across the two states. Expressing the concern of the two state governments over the increasing criminal activities where large number of heavily armed hoodlums invaded villages, maimed and killed several community members.

Alarm: Boko Haram Insurgents Now Disguise As Herdsmen
Nigerian Governors yesterday raised the alarm over the infiltration of their states by suspected mercenaries posing as Fulani cattle rearers.
The bandits are quite different from Fulani and well-armed, the governors said. Boko Harm insurgents disguise as military men, they use AK-47 and their mission are not known, said the governors who fear that the insurgents may unleash terror on 17 states.

Dungeon Of Death Discovered In Ibadan, Decomposed Bodies, Human Bones, Kidnapped Persons Littered the Area
A death dungeon where scores of kidnapped people had been tortured and died was discovered at the Soka area, a satellite community of Ibadan, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway of Oyo State. According to sources, human skulls, decomposed bodies and various body parts were seen being evacuated from the dungeon.
About 20 bodies of people believed to have been killed for ritual purposes were discovered and 18 men and five women, believed to have been bewitched and bound with fetters in a dungeon, were found and rescued.
