Hunt for Chibok Girls is Unlikely to have a Happy Ending" - by: Joe Brock

(Reuters) - Nigeria's hunt for more than 200 abducted schoolgirls is not all that it seems. In public, an international operation is gathering pace while behind the scenes, officials say it is unlikely to deliver the success that global opinion demands.

The United States and Britain are helping Nigerian forces in the effort to liberate the girls taken from their school in Borno state a month ago by Boko Haram Islamist militants.

The pressure for results is huge, with the likes of Michelle Obama and film star Angelina Jolie supporting a social media campaign operating under the Twitter tag ‪#‎BringBackOurGirls‬.

Washington has sent surveillance aircraft as well as assigning medical, intelligence, counter-terrorism and communications advisers to the mission.

BREAKING: President Jonathan has no plan to visit Chibok - Abati

President Jonathan's special adviser on media and publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati has said there were no plan any where that the president was scheduled to visit Chibok in Borno state today.
According to Abati, every trip by the President is usually pre-announced. The Presidency did not at any time announce a trip to Chibok today. He said President Jonathan heads for Paris talks with Neighbouring countries on Joint Action against Boko Haram and not Chibok as widely reported by the media.

He said the statement issued by his office yesterday indicated very clearly that the President Jonathan is scheduled to travel to Paris today. Adding that It is wrong and malicious to allege that a non-existent trip has been cancelled.

#BringBackOurGirls : See Omotola Jolade, Hear her!

“Good morning friends. Woke up with so much on my mind. Where do I start, there is so much they are not telling you… So much politicking with people’s lives and destinies. What a wicked world. There is no more time for fake “I belong” behaviors. This is war! War on our freedom and sanity. Now’s the time to think selfless and act. We are not fighting aliens, humanity is at war with itself! Power, money, fame… Greed. If you won’t fight for yourself, fight for your loved ones! #stopthebloodshed. #findthegirls. #regainourhumanity #regainourpride”

International Community Must Intervene: Jonathan Government Not Capable Of Countering The Menace Of Violent Islamic Sect - Soyinka

The government of President Goodluck Jonathan was not capable of countering the menace of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, says the Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka

Speaking on Amanpour on CNN, Soyinka submitted that the international community must intervene in what he called the bestiality of the insurgents when responding the question of the host, Christine Amanpour on how the insurgency in the country could be tackled.

“This menace has to be internationalised; every country has to be involved in finding solutions to the problem. It is not a Nigerian problem but the problem of the whole world. From the activities of the group and the response of the government since this madness started, it is clear that this government cannot handle this problem alone,” he said.

Soyinka accused both the past and the present governments in the country of living in self denial, by believing that they could negotiate or “appeal” to “murderers and killers” to stop their activities.

#BringBackOurGirls: GOD SAY HE WILL RELEASE THEM –TB JOSHUA

Speaking in his church yesterday, the Pastor of the Synagogue Church Of All Nation (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua has said he saw a vision that the girls were released. He also urged Nigerians and their parents to pray for the release of the girls, but above all he says God has spoken that He will release them.  “They have to be released. That is the voice of God. I saw a vision where some of these girls have escaped and they are trying to find their way from the forest to the town. In the midnight, some of these girls ran away."

WHO ACTUALLY RIGGED ANAMBRA POLLS; Nigeria remain a "crying shame" to civilisation - Ishiekwene

Nigeria remain a "crying shame" to civilisation

In this 21st century, with all the advancement in Science and Technology, Nigeria still cannot hold a credible electoral register- with so many duplications and fake names in the ones Jega had produced so far, and at the whims of the party in power both at the federal and state levels; Nigeria can't record votes cast because vested interests are in control, not INEC, or Jega who is in their pockets, even before appointment. The "appointer" decides which state, and which Electoral constituency goes to which party, and takes the bulk- they play it a bit smart- by dishing out some states to opposition parties to give a fake semblance of credibility to the process, and then they "capture" the rest with "do-or-die" tactics: Who pays the piper dictates the tune!

Nigeria and Nigerians still live in the dark ages, and it appears cave men are better than 21st century Nigerians. yea, cave men can count themselves and know 16<19 16="" nigerian="" not="" other="" politicians="" round="" say="" the="" way="" where="">19 ( 16 greater than 19). They don't even know the size of the people inhabiting that cosmos: Population Census numbers have been rigged since 1953, and the morons will rig the numbers again if another is held tomorrow-- they don't care about the importance of census for planning and Decision making. They don't like Electronic voting, despite spending billions- utterly wasteful country- in buying those DNA computers, accessories and software- that the likes of late Adedibu will have before prof Iwu gets his own in 2006, during Obasanjo's time, leading to the fake results that brought Yar'Adua and Jonathan to power in 2007; and then Prof Jega started his own wayo, in January/February 2011, pretending to be keen to do a DNA voter registration, preparatory for an Electronic voting. Guess what? All the computers and DNA logistics costing over N80billion were thrown into the Atlantic Ocean and some in forests and Deserts across the country by April, 2011, when the general election was held and multiple-thumb printing by paid-NYSC took over from where PDP thugs ended with their vote padding, and ballot box stuffing, and another fake result was announced by Jega.

Latet Update: Abducted schoolgirls; parents insist 234, not 129, girls abducted Premium Times

There was confusion today in Chibok, Borno state, when parents of abducted schoolgirls at Government Girls Secondary School insisted that 85 more girls than admitted by officials were abducted from the school.
The Borno state commissioner for education and the principal of the school had claimed that 129 girls were kidnapped when the suspected Boko Haram gunmen stormed their dormitories on April 14.
Of the number, the officials said, 28 initially escaped while another 16 broke free from the abductors days later. The remaining 85 are still missing, they claimed.
However, parents told Borno state Governor, Kashim Shettima, who visited Chibok Monday, in defiance of security warnings, that by their records, 234 girls were abducted, suggesting that 190 of the pupils are yet to be found.
