BBC has just reports that the Nigeria government is ready to talk to Boko Haram Islamist militants for the release of more than 200 abducted schoolgirls.
Minister of Special Duties Tanimu Turaki was quoted by BBC as saying if Boko Haram was sincere, its leader Abubakar Shekau should send people he trusted to meet the standing committee on reconciliation.
The girls were kidnapped by the Islamist militias last month from a Government Secondary Girls School in Chibok, Borno state.
Activists and lawyers had raised concerns that on no account should government negotiate with the Boko Haram sects most especially on the conditions with which the Boko Haram Leader, Shekau has dictated.
