In a press release by the group, there was an announcement of the march to the presidential villa set for Thursday the 22nd of May. The release read in part:
The #BringBackOurGirls Team in Nigeria will embark on a Protest March to the Presidential Villa, in Aso Rock.
This is in continuation of our citizens’ engagement over the need for the authorities concerned to take the lead in rescuing our over 200 schoolgirls still in custody of Boko Haram.
Therefore, as the President, and Chief Security Officer of the country, this movement deemed it necessary to take its cry and demand to His Excellency, President Goodluck Jonathan.
Those intended to participate in the protest are to convene by 2:30pm at the usual venue of the #BringBackOurGirls village square meetings, at Unity Fountain. It is adjacent to theTranscorp Hilton Hotel, Maitama, from where the march will commence at 3:00 pm on Thursday.
The Thursday peaceful demonstration is a sequel to similar such engagements, such as those we’ve had with the National Assembly, the National Security Adviser, and the Defense Headquarters, and the Borno State Governor.
Leaders of this movement have also had a fruitful exchange with the National Security Adviser.
It is the wish of this movement that this engagement will catalyze positive action towards quick rescue of our abducted girls.

This is part of the nationwide effort to keep the heat on President Goodluck Jonathan, who many in the Nigerian movement to bring back the abducted students, consider his leadership inept on the matter.
There are similar rallies and marches set to take place in over a half dozen African nations this coming weekend, including a march and rally in South Africa.
