CLARIFICATION: PRESIDENT GAVE NO ‘ORDERS’ ON USE OF NATIONAL ID CARDS FOR 2019 POLLS

OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT PRESS RELEASE

Our attention has been drawn to some misleading newspaper reports today claiming that the President gave “orders” that national identity cards be used in the 2019 elections.

For the avoidance of any doubt, the President has made no such order and the Vice President’s speech (delivered yesterday by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Ade Ipaye at the Policy Roundtable on Identity Eco-System in the country, which the report used to make such erroneous claims), certainly made no mention of the 2019 elections at all.

What the speech said was that the President has taken an initiative to harmonize identity management in the country so as to ensure that every Nigerian has a unique identifier. And in the same vein, the speech added that it is the “President’s charge that the national identification number, (NIN) is used to authenticate eligible voters in the near future, as well as in the areas of access to health insurance, registration of SIM cards, access to social welfare, financial transactions, etc.”

Biafra Agitation: The Dimension Of The Argument

I have been prompted to express my thoughts on the Biafra agitation by the dimension the argument has taken, especially where spin-doctors who are known agents of divide-and-rule have gone back to their usual work of dividing the indigenous people of Biafra. The major aim of these divide-and-rule elements who tend to cry more than the bereaved is to use the instrumentality of the media to tag the Biafra agitation an Igbo “affair”. The irony of the debate is that majority of those divide-and-rule advocates who have sworn to keep inciting Biafrans against each other are non-Biafrans. I think the future or restoration of Biafra should strictly be left for indigenous people of Biafra to decide.

Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Senate Donates N12m To Ex-Servicemen

The Senate today donated N12 million to the Nigerian Legion towards the 2017 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebrations.
Announcing the donation while being decorated with the remembrance emblem, Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, said the gesture was to appreciate the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces in providing and maintaining peace and security in the country.

Apart from the N12 million, Saraki, according to a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Mohammed Isa, said each Senator will make an individual donation to the Legion, since nothing is too much towards supporting the nation's retirees and keeping the memory of fallen heroesalive.

KWARA HERO'S REPLY TO AN ARTICLE WRITTEN BY A RESPECTED ELDER IN THE SARAKI CAMP, HON. KAYODE LA-KADRI, TITLED: CRITICS, CRITICISMS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS AND ENLIGHTENMENT

Good day esteemed fellow and darling new media companions. We hope you are having a swell time even in the midst of man made recession we are currently battling in Nigeria. Well... God is good! God has being so good to us!...

Our activities as Kwara Hero has continue attracting wide patronage. Many people has sent us series of request and others even wants to collaborate with us. Infact,....... So much is expected of us! By God's grace, we will do our best to live up to expectation of our teeming admirers! The comprehensive report of Ondo State Gubernatorial Election is still loading! We will post the table of content of the report soonest so that people will have an idea of what to expect. The report will be as explicit and detailed as possible. We hope it will make an interesting reading. To all of those who has nothing but negative words to say "bring it on" we dare you! To all of you who have constructive criticisms, you are welcomed! To all those who enjoy our work, behold, the best is yet to come. Hmmmmmp! We had to gratify Alhaji (Hon.) Kayode La-kadri post with a reply! And indeed, a respectful reply! His post, to the myopic minds would seem as an indirect jibes at the likes of Great Sholyment, Kayode Ogunlowo, Kayode Oyin Zubair, Mai Gaskiya, Yahaya Habib, Geri Alimi, Amebo Niger, Kamaldeen Agbaji, AbdulRahman Ola Uthman, Shagaya Kabeer Oladimeji, Salihu Ayatullahi, Muyideen Bola, Kwara Hero and a host of others. BUT, KWARA HERO IS NEVER MYOPIC! WE SAW IN THAT POST AN ELDER WHO WAS TRYING TO SENSIBLY APPEAL TO THE MINDS OF SOCIAL CRUSADERS, E-RATS OR CYBER DOGS AS THE CASE MAY BE. THE ELDER WAS APPEALING TO THOSE WHOSE POSTS AND RELEASES ARE HIGHLY CRITICAL OF THE CURRENT POLITICAL LEADERSHIP IN KWARA STATE.

Hon. Kayode La-kadri, we wish to make it clear to you in very honest terms that our intentions are not to cause problems in our Darling State. Infact, we are doing all the things we do because we are looking for solutions to the "PROBLEMS" already existing! We are not critics, we states reality as it truly is. But in our work, we have discovered that some people because of what they are benefitting, dislike reality. If the current political leadership in Kwara State, will just for God sake, look around and see how massive the sufferings in our community is, and their hearts becomes moved to doing something right about it, Kwara Hero would not have reasons to criticize them.

Senate Poised to Break PIB Jinx, Holds Public Hearing Tomorrow - Saraki

The Senate, will on Wednesday (December 7th, 2016) begin the public hearing on the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIB), which passed second reading on Tuesday, November 1st, 2016.

The PIB governance legislation, which has been stalled in successive Assemblies, has reached its farthest stage in 16 years.

The Bill establishes the process for breaking the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) into two commercial entities which will be limited by shares. The two entities will be known as the National Petroleum Company and the National Assets Management Company.

Once the PIB is passed and signed into law, Nigeria will have the necessary legislative framework that is needed to ensure the creation and sustainability of commercially-oriented and profit-driven entities that makes possible value addition and the internationalization of Nigeria’s petroleum industry.
