The convoy of former head of State General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), was on Wednesday, involved in an auto crash along Kachia – Kaduna highway.
No life was lost.
GMB who Led the delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on a condolence visit to the Chief of Marwa, Malam Tagwai Sambon in Kaura Local Government of the state, while returning to Kaduna, one of the Vehicles in his convoy, a Prado Jeep crashed after it has somersaulted several times while trying to avoid wrecking more havoc to the on coming vehicles. A member of the team and Leadership Newspaper Correspondent, Ibrahim Ibrahim, said how they escaped unhurt was a miracle.
Also, he said that they had given up hope when the somersaulting Jeep suddenly stopped.
“We were lucky to escape the accident unhurt” Ibrahim stated.
Gen. Buhari who was at the palace of Chief of Marwa at Kaura local government area condemned the frequent attacks and killings while saying the perpetrators must be brought to book.
He said, ” if Nigerians gave their mandate to APC come 2015 general elections, it will address the incesant insecurity problem that has hold the country into gridlock.
He enjoined the people of Kaura to remain calm and be their brothers’ keeper most especially in time like this, in order to check mate any other unforeseen insecurities.
Also In his remarks during the condolence, former Kaduna state commissioner for finance and now a chieftain of APC in Kaduna state Alhaji Sulaiman Hunkuyi condemned the attacks and commiserated with the commiserates with monarch over the incidence.
During the visit, the delegation donated the sum of N 2 million to the victims and the money was presented by Buhari to the Chief of Marwa .
In his response, the Chief of Marwa, Sambo thanked them for the visit and described the incidence as an act of God. He then expressed hope that similar incidence will never occur again.
Some of the National executive members of APC present were the Deputy National Chairman Aminu Bello Masari, National deputy Secretary, Malam Nasiru El-rufai.
