Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest and named the suspects as Kubura Salami, Tantolorun Abimbola,Kafaya Popoola, Wahid Ibrahim, and Adamu Rafiu. Adding that the exhibits recovered from them include one human head and pieces of human flesh in a container stained with liquid substance suspected to be human blood.
Ogun State Police Commissioner, Ikemefuna Okoye ordered that the case be handed to the Special Anti-robbery Squad, SARS, in Lagos, which collaborated with the Ogun police for the arrest.
The spokesperson said the arrest was part of an ongoing investigation with the Lagos SARS. “Ogun Command will complement Lagos command in the course of its investigation of the incident,” he said.
Mr. Adejobi assured the public that the Ogun police would not condone any act of criminality in the state, asking the public to continue in assisting the police with relevant information.
