Our priority is to build a virile socio-political and economic environment and therefore bequeath a better country to our future generations. I commend our President, Muhammadu Buhari for the giant strides his administration has recorded so far in the fight against Boko Haram and other security challenges confronting the country. The Senate will not relent in giving absolute support to the military and other security agencies in taming the menace of insurgency.
In this regard, I enjoin Nigerians from all walks of life to use the 55th Independence Day celebration to reflect on the nation's journey so far and commit to work for a brighter future for our great nation.
