GRUESOME MURDER OF OJEDAPO IN IKIRE: LETTER TO THE OSUN STATE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE

Mr. S.A Ojedapo,
Oosa compound Ikire,
Irewole LGA
Osun State
10th of June 2016.
The Commissioner of Police,
Osun State Police Command,
Osogbo,
Osun state.

Dear sir,

A CALL FOR JUSTICE FOR THE GRUESOME MURDER OF OJEDAPO DARE TAJUDEEN: AND THE IMMEDIATE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF MRS. SHAKIRAT ABIDEEN A PREGNANT WOMAN, A MINOR OF 10 YEARS AND ANOTHER ILL 3YEARS OLD MASTER OLA ABIDEEN, LUKMAN BASIRU AND 18 OTHERS

I wish to draw your attention to the unlawful arrest and unjust detention of Mrs. Shakirat Abideen who is over eight months pregnant and her ill son master Ola Abideen, Lukman Bashiru the senior brother of Mutiu Bashiru who ordinarily supposed to be a key state witness in an ongoing murder trial which is about to be scuttled for pecuniary gains. The illegally detained persons at SCID Osogbo were arrested around 1:30am at Oloode compound Ikire on Thursday 9th of June 2016.
The unjust arrest and detention of the illegally detained persons is against natural justice, while the ugly development cannot be divorced from the ongoing murder trial of Mr. Odeyemi Osundina at the Osun State Magistrate court 1 Ikire division. Odeyemi and his co-accused persons had shot at close range and macheted Mr. Ojedapo Dare Tajudeen on Thursday 15th of December 2015, who later died on Monday 21st of December 2015 from wounds and injuries inflicted on him by his murderous assailants. The pictures and autopsy of the deceased is hereby attached.

It should be noted that the person who reported the murder of Ojedapo Dare to the police and the one that eventually effected the arrest of the murderer, Messrs. Mutiu Basiru and Suraju Alabi respectively are now being hunted by policemen from SCID Osogbo based on the condemnable instructions of the OC legal and OC SARS both attached to the state police command. I was reliably informed that the duo had been compromised with over ‪#‎3million‬ by the guardian of the principal suspect, Madam Belah a notable palm oil dealer in Ikire.

To the chagrin of all sense of decency, justice and equity, 3 of the suspected murderers of Dare were granted bail on Tuesday 31st of May 2016. It was reliably gathered that the OC legal compromised the state prosecutor at the Magistrate court 1, Ikire division after over #0.7million exchange hands.
Thus, the illegal arrest and detention of a pregnant woman and 2 minors, and 18 others is a gradual step towards the eventual discharge and acquittal of the murderers of Ojedapo Dare. We hereby appeal to your good office to wade into this matter, so that justice will not be murdered the same way Dare was brutally murdered by his unrepentant assailants.

I therefore called for the immediate and unconditional release of Shakirat and her son, Lukuman Mayegun who were all arrested and detained in place of police injusticiable man hunt for Mutiu Basiru and Suraju Alabi.

Lastly, the ignoble role of the compromised OC Legal, OC SARS, the Prosecutor and the Magistrate in this case should be thoroughly investigated before justice is not only denied but traded off to the highest bidder. An injury to one is an injury to all.

Looking forward to a prompt and positive response from you.
Thank you sir.

Signed:

Mr. S.A Ojedapo
