R.I.P. Justice Niki Tobi, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court is dead

A former Supreme Court judge, Justice Niki Tobi has died. The Nation reports that the judge passed on last Friday at the National Hospital, Abuja, from an undisclosed ailment.

He was born in Esanma, Bomadi local government area of Delta State It was gathered that the late jurist, regarded in the nation’s legal circle as a highly brilliant judicial officer, had been ill for some time.

Sources at the Supreme Court said that the court was only informed on Monday about the jurist’s death and the movement of his corpse to the Garki hospital.


Justice Tobi, who was born July 14, 1940, died almost a month to his 76th birthday. He retired on July 14, 2010 as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court
