Since the Dec 24, 2016's eve of Christmas celebration, the sacrifices of Fidel, the spirit of Fidel, the total commitment &, stuborness to an idea of Fidel & above all the capacity for forward thinking of Fidel, and the Future of Humanity in Africa have been in my thoughts!
Why? Because, Muslim and Christain festivities are used by looters and oppressors in our land to appease the conscience of workers and the Poor in the name of "peace" to endure hunger, in the name of "peace" to live in poverty, in the name of "peace" to suffer the agonies of unpaid salaries & pensions, in the name of "peace" to hope for deceitful promises, etc - all tied to the spirits of Prophets Muhammed and Jesus!
But cant the workers and the Poor DISCOVER the Fidel in their Hearts? I have Fidel in me and it has been working for me.
In 1956, on the eve of Xmas, a group of a surviving 12 out of 82 that had on the night of November 25, launched a guierrila revolutionary warfare into Cuba from the port of Mexico and who were almost completely liquidated on arrival by the country's army, re-united as the 12 survivors after wandering through the bushes.
On that Dec 24, the 12 - Fidel, Raul, Che, Almeida, Ramiro, Calixto, Camilo, Rodriguez, Faustino, et al seated around a camp fire, very hungry and few of them feeling despair & hopeless about their future - what can 12 combatants with just 7 weapons left and already reduced from 82 to 12 in a country of 6.5million people do to rescue Humanity & chart a new course in their country Cuba?
One of them's mind snapped Home: "tomorrow is Xmas, were I to be home, it will be great to have ...." But Fidel decisively interjected (sensing that the Companero's remark could demobilised others), and said: to inspire them all - "Once I receive additional support (from the underground comrades), that by February 1957 - we will be free or we will be martyrs"
That is the spirit of Fidel, that is his stubborness to idea, that is his visionary leadership style, that is his decisiveness, etc from which I learn & from which at least two major decisions & struggles of JAF have benefitted - Jan 3rd 2012 that ignited the January 2012 Uprising, & the May 1st May 2014"s Humiliation of Governor Fashola at the May Day over his Government's wicked & anti-poor hike in school fees in LASU from N25,000 to N350,000.
The Lesson is that Struggle is never done on the basis of convinience of time. Fela was apt in suffer suffer for world, enjoy for heaven. But festivities in Nigeria and Africa make us postpone our "sorrows, tears & blood" and make us revel in wining & dining with our oppressors & exploiters in churches & mosques. Its high time the exploited and oppressed working people and the Poor across Africa should put on their thinking caps.
A hungry woman & man should not be singing Praises of the Lord or glofying Allah with the "bad bad" Overseer Pastors & Ustazs who daily profit from the captured minds of their Congregation. A worker has no business in any church or mosque where they preach against struggle "by any means necessary" to change their conditions but to eternally delude the Poor with Miracles & prayers to better their lives.
Its time to Realise there are Two Gods - the God of the few Rich and the God of the majority Poor.
The God of Poor has refused to descend into Africa but Will come only when the exploited workers and majority poor (with all their knowledge & talents) will stop being slaves to religious manipulations and stop going to churches and mosques to pray against the demons of recession, austerity measures, unpaid salaries & pensions, poor living conditions and hopelessness.
Go ye Now the Poor working people & oppressed across Africa to the churches & mosques and repent to the Lord/ Allah: "We are very sorry to ourselves, we deserve to suffer till eternity & even will suffer in the unknown heaven because we have failed to use the brains and hands you created & born us with to think, plan & organise ourselves as ONE for a major struggle to banish this system of moneyism, this system of suffering, this system of private jet-owning pastors & expensive schools that we cannot afford to send our children to, etc. We will henceforth stop to pay for offerings & thanks giving & No more tithes to the Altar/ Imams.
In our churches & mosques must emerged a Movement of Faithfuls who must define the people's own concept of democracy, which must after the reading of the Bible/ Quoran, INSIST on deciding on the following AGENDA:
(1) The State of the Nation
(2) Participating in the collective struggle for Justice to banish all traits of Capitalist extortions & values.
(3) Open declarations of all funds received & democratic decisions on how it should be expended on Public education, public health, welfare & infrastructure.
(4) Elections of officers/ committees to run the affairs of the churches/ mosques and to expose & discipline erring Pastors/ Imams that indulge looters & oppressors in the country.
I am sure the same God/ Allah who created Fidel with the spirit of sacrifices, the spirit of courage & decisiveness, the spirit of total commitment & stuborness to an idea & capacity for forward thinking" will OPEN the Gates of Heaven to workers and the Poor, who on a Festive Xmas or Eid Kabr Day would Protest March from the praying ground with their starved & miserable families to the residences of the Governors/ Commissioners to OCCUPY those "Heavens on Earth" until their Demands are resolved!
