Abuja Bomb Blast: Buhari threatens to sue PDP for defamation

Following the Abuja Bomb explosion that killed scores and injured hundreds, and the sharp allegation by the Ruling Peoples Democratic party against the opposition All Progressive Congress and its Leaders, a former head of state and National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Major Gen.  Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), has threatens to sue the PDP for defamation of character.

The General who issued a seven-day ultimatum to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to retract its accusation linking him with the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist acts, tender an unreserved public apology to him, or face a legal action. In a statement he personally signed in Kaduna on Thursday Mr. Buhari said: ”I cannot sit back and allow my image, and that of my political party be smeared by falsehood in the name of politics.”

Boko Haram Threats: Jonathan Deploys 6,000 Troops for WEF Summit
Following the shifting of the battle ground by the Boko Haram Islamist insurgents from the Northeast to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, the Nigeria President , Goodluck Jonathan has ordered the deployment of more than 6,000 police and soldiers to protect Abuja during a World Economic Forum (WEF), holding next month.

President Jonathan's order on Tuesday follows a bombing attack by the suspected Boko Haram militant group at a crowded Nyanya bus station in Abuja on Monday.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) Summit will see Heads of state and business leaders from Africa flowing to Abuja between May 7-9.

Blame APC For Abuja Bomb Explosion - PDP

Following the deadly bomb blast that rocked Abuja today,the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused and blame the opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Monday incidence in which over 71 persons were reportefly killed and 124 injured according to the Police report.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, condemned as barbaric, monstrous and extremely wicked, the explosion which occurred at Nyanya motor park today, on the outskirts of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT. Metuh, who insisted that the bomb blasts could not be justified under any means, but that they were politically motivated and can be traced to the comments of desperate persons who seek to undermine and discredit the Jonathan's administration and make the nation ungovernable for him by instituting a reign of terror against the people.

President Jonathan visit Nyanya bomb blast scene today, later visited Asokoro Hospital

Following the early morning Bomb explosions that rocked Nyanya motor park in Abuja today, with scores reportedly killed in the scene, the Nigerian President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has cancelled his proposed trip to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. The President who was originally scheduled to attend the centenary birthday service of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Odulana Odugade.
