Nigeria Police arrest 12 suspects in Taraba state with fire arms, IED launchers and other exhibits

The Nigeria Police, Taraba State Command has yesterday paraded 12 suspects, arrested at Wukari and Ibi Local Government Areas of the state with fire arms, locally made IED launchers and other exhibits.

Taraba state police spokesman, ASP Joseph Kwajji, said on March 28, the police in Wukari arrested two suspects, Rimanstama Ahmadu and Danladi Ahmadu, with a locally made IED launcher. Saying that the policemen on patrol sighted them with the exhibit while they were riding on a motorcycle.

The suspects, while in police custody claimed the weapons was kept in their shop by an unknown person.
Kwaji  further said that the police arrested another suspect, Murtala Muhammadu, a herdsman with an AK47 rifle in Wukari area of the state on March 24.

According police spokesman, the president of Jukun youths in the area also reported at the police area command that his son sighted a Fulani herdsman with a rifle while controlling his cattle and as result the police acted on the information on time and was able to arrest the suspect named as Murtala Muhammadu of Abuni village of Awai Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.
 With the suspect, the police recovered AK47 rifle and 27 rounds of ammunition. while other items collected from the suspect according to Kwaji include a touch light, a Techno handset, two lighters, a jug and N20.

On the other hand, the Nigerian Police in Taraba state, on another separate operation nabbed nine suspects at Dooshima village in Ibi Local Government Area for allegedly looting property of Tiv people, who were displaced from their homes following attacks by suspected Fulani herdsmen. 
"Abdullahi Umaru, Yunusa A. Yunusa, Mustapha Hamisu, Idris Mohammed, Adamu Mohammed, Yusuf Aliyu, Mairo Maijaki, Hauwa Shagari and Adamu Musa were arrested", Kwaji said.

In his statement, Kwaji said: "A police patrol team arrested the suspects while “looting farm products of the displaced Tiv people." Adding that all the arrested suspects are still under police criminal investigation department and would be charged to court soon.

ASP Joseph Kwajji concluded by asuring the people of Taraba state of the Police protections always; saying  “the command wants to assure Taraba people that the police will leave no stone unturned in ensuring security of lives and property.”
