A political tsunami is ready to hit members of the Labour Party government in Ondo State, as some key members of the party have perfected plans to defect to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party at any moment.
The members include some Lawmakers from the State House of Assembly. At a secretly held meeting on Friday afternoon in Akure, the capital city, the disgruntled party members resolved to move out of the Labour Party, to join the Peoples Democratic Party.
It was learned that the meeting was held in one of the aggrieved lawmakers homes where they had perfected a plan of moving out from the Labour Party.

Details: Why Fayemi and APC Lost Ekiti – by an Ekitian, Tosin Awotesu
I have read a number of commentary regarding the Ekiti gubernatorial election which saw Ayo Fayose emerge as the newly elected Governor of Ekiti State with a landslide victory. I have read people accuse the PDP of rigging the election, an accusation mainly coming from people who do not live in Ekiti and were nowhere near Ekiti during the election. Some have not even been to Ekiti before! Yet, the participants, the people of Ekiti, and those present have all come out to say the elections were free and fair. So, what do these people know, the entire people of Ekiti, Fayemi, Opeyemi Bamidele and election observers do not know? Why trying to heat up the polity again? I believe some of these people may enjoy the shedding of innocent blood to satisfy their sick minds!

The governor-elect, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, described the election that produced him as free, fair and credible. He promised to improve the living standard of the people by providing job opportunities and making education affordable.
Also reacting, the Labour Party’s candidate, Opeyemi Bamidele, said, “I am not desperate to be governor.”

The claim by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that federal officials prevented the plane carrying the Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, from landing in Akure is false, PREMIUM TIMES can reveal.
At the time the APC was claiming that the Kano governor was being barred from getting to Ekiti, the spokesperson of the governor told PREMIUM TIMES his boss was in Kano and had no plans to travel to Ekiti.
The APC, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, claimed Mr. Kwankwaso and two other APC governors, Adams Oshiomhole of Edo and Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers, were barred from getting to Ekiti to support Governor Kayode Fayemi’s re-election bid.
