Endless Killing: Boko Haram kills two; sets churches, houses ablaze in Borno state

Suspected members of the dreaded Boko Haram insurgent group on Sunday night attacked Pelabirni Village in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State.
During the attack, two villagers were killed and virtually all buildings in the village razed, witnesses and security officials said. The attack, according to fleeing residents started at about mid night when the gunmen stormed the village and began to shoot sporadically.

“Boko Haram set every house on fire and shot many people, among which two of our villagers died; one woman who suffered serious injury is now in the hospital”, said a resident, Mari Jocob.
A top police officer working in the area also confirmed the incident. He asked not to be quoted as only the force headquarters in Maiduguri has the authority to speak on such matter.
Neither the police, nor the military has reacted to the killings. Efforts are ongoing to reach the Borno Police Commissioner, Lawan Tanko, whose phone could not be reached as at the time of this report.
The Boko Haram recently suffered a heavy casualty during a daring attack on a military complex in Maiduguri.
Over 270 members of the sect are believed to have been killed on Friday as they stormed the Giwa Barracks to, according to the Defence Headquarters, free their imprisoned leaders.
