The Former Senior Special Assistant on Media to the late Kaduna State Governor, Mr. Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, Reuben Buhari, was set free yesterday by the police. He was arrested about a week ago for posting images of dead victims of the recent killings in Kaduna State.
His kinsmen have however risen in his defence, wondering when it became an offence to post unfabricated photos of senseless massacre that claimed scores of lives. In a statement signed by Southern Kaduna Indigenes Forum, the group condemned the arrest, describing it as witch-hunt.
Signed by its chairman, Maj. George Nchok Asake (rtd), the statement reads in part; “Politics should have a human face devoid of malice, rancour and witch hunt of any nature. Why did the Kaduna State Police Commissioner deny Reuben Buhari the right to drop feeding allowance with his wife who only put to bed on Monday?
“Are the pictures he uploaded on the internet not true? Did he commit any treasonable act? Is his action worse than that of the killers of the 126 people from the communities that the police should have long arrested instead of harassing innocent mourners?
“Truth in this case has been penalised while murderers are left to roam about freely in order to commit more murders and destruction”
