Fulani herdsmen dominated settlement, located in the federal grazing reserve areas in Kachia Local Government Area of the State. The troops' main goal of the operation was search of arms following a tip-off.

Army spokespersonn of the One Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Col. Usman Abdul confirmed the incident that; “The raid was carried out at about 4:00am on Sunday in a cordon and search operation aimed at saving the natives from being attacked by the herdsmen.
According to him, “Investigation is still ongoing to ascertain how the suspects got their guns and other ammunitions, with a view to prosecuting them according to the law,” he said.

Daily Trust also reports that the soldiers arrived in the village around 4 am in over ten vehicles and searched all the houses.

They have seized some weapons and arrested about 27 people. Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Alhaji Ahmadu Suleiman, confirmed that dozens of soldiers in trucks stormed the village, and carried out a house-to-house search.
