Two people has died in Admawa state as a result of the intense heat being witnessed in the state, Adamawa State Commissioner for Health, Mrs Lilian Stephen, said on Wednesday.
Mrs Lilian told Journalists while reacting to the submission of the member representing Jada constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon Hamman Yettisuri, who during Wednesday’s sitting, said at least four people from Kilbawo and Jada wards of his constituency died of cholera attack while 13 others were hospitalized.
Saying that the disclosure by the member representing Jada Constituency made us to deployed our team of experts who reported that there was no cholera outbreak in the area except two persons who died of intense heat.
She added that the state Government has provided Oral Rehydration Treatment (ORT), for the patients, urging people to compliment the government’s efforts by improving sanitary conditions in and around their environs.
The Chairman House Committee on Health, Hon. Abubakar Jarengol, representing Mubi North, also corroborated the position of the Health Commissioner.
