At least five individuals were hurt and ten other arrested on Tuesday as Lagos State University (LASU) students clash with police at Oshodi. The students who were protesting fee hikes by the university authorities, paralysed commercial activities at the ever-busy Oshodi and its environs.
Sources said, at least five persons sustained various degree of injuries, the Student Union President, Comrade Nurudeen Yusuf who led the protest, however said three female students were injured through the alleged use of live ammunition by the police.
Although, the Lagos State government has pledged to review the fee hikes, but the students claim that they chose to protest due to the breakdown of negotiation with state authorities.
