BOKO HARAM : OUR MILITARY AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

I keep wondering if our military is a round institution in its field ,territorial defense.  While not laying claim to a deeper professional knowledge of warfare I do a lot of studies on general issues and I am sufficiently equipped mentally to know when it rains.

The manner in which the military top brass manages information on BOKO Haram insurgence needs more professional touch than what are being spewed to the public.

Within a week Nigerian military spewed various contradictory information capable of destroying not only the military but also people's confidence in once respected armed forces !
I read in the media that any soldier of Nigerian Armed Forces who defected shall be summarily executed , I doubt if instructions like this should be communicated openly in the manner ( media affairs ) the military did in our case.

I read again that our military has just placed orders for weapons to fight the insurgence and we are being educated about the details. I think somebody should help the military now on better management of information. We must move away from a military who does most of its war strategies on the pages of news papers.

Hope our military trainings involved information management !
