Osun Victory: Aregbesola and Civl servants

The gubernatorial election in Osun has come and gone and the good people of the State of Osun has once again decided who lead them for the next four years, but as the celebration continue across the nooks and corners of the State our observation revealed that the civil servants remain unhappy except few as they find it difficult to join the common people in celebrating the victory of the people’s governor.

Yes, while some believe that the ethic of the civil servant job does not permit them to participate in full politics but considering how the present government/administration under the leadership of Aregbesola took care of the civil servants in the State one will believe that the later should celebrate the re-election of Ogbeni than the common people.

In the past, the civil servants were the major determinant in the outcome of governorship election in the State of Osun and this can be traced back to 2003 guber poll against Chief Bisi Akande and was as a result of entrenchment of the workers by the then administration and the failure of Olagunsoye Oyinlola in 2007 guber election can also be traced to this same organ.

The outcome of the August 9 guber poll speaks differently and it shows that all power belong to the masses and not the civil servants. 80% of the later support not the re-elect of Ogbeni as most directors and top officers engaged in an open campaign across all the ministries in support of Senator Iyiola Omisore on the basis that Ogbeni blocked the entire loop hole in the government

But considering how Ogbeni took care of the civil servants in the State by paying them thirteen months salary since he took over the government in 2010, employed more workers than any other governor in the history of the State without dismiss one, twice promotion in three years and payment of salary without delay one will not believe that the civil servants will serve as number one enemy for the re-election of the Unusual governor.

Right now the masses have decided and thanks God that their decision prevailed and shows the weakness and the less important of the later against the former believe on who determine the outcome of guber election in the State. All kudos to the people’s governor who invest on the common people and not only on civil servants because if he has done otherwise this is the same way they would have deserted him.
