Crisis hits Osun PDP over ward congress

There was crisis and confusion at the state secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State on Saturday over the conduct of the ward congresses to elect delegates, who will eventually elect the state executives of the party.
One of the chairmanship aspirants of the party, Dr. Bayo Faforiji, and thousands of his supporters stormed the party secretariat as early as 8:30am to protest the alleged hoarding of the forms by the State Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa.

Faforiji’s supporters almost lynched a supporter of Mr. Soji Adagunodo, who is also a chairmanship aspirant but for the timely intervention of security men at the scene.

Aregbesola, Omisore and Osun state’s August votes by Lasisi Olagunju

About 18 months ago, I was at a media event in Lagos where Senator Iyiola Omisore unveiled his decision to contest the 2014 governorship election in Osun State. He spoke so passionately about his love for the state and why and how he would contest and win. I remember a number of people spoke. I remember (for whatever reasons) I was asked to also say something. I remember I got up, slowly, then told Senator Omisore that if the election was held under the prevailing circumstance, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, then of the ACN, would win. I remember I explained that Aregbesola would win, not for anything else, but for the fact that there would be no opposition political party to contest the seat with him. Omisore’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as far back as that time, was already rent, badly divided in Osun State. It was at that event that some of the editors got to know that Omisore had parted ways with his friend, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, at a time he ( the senator) was already in competition for the governorship ticket of the party with three other key stakeholders in the PDP. I thought I was helping him, giving him hints of what needed to be done, but the ever confident, optimistic Omisore dismissed my words. “Nobody will be a threat to this project,” he said as I took my seat.

As I sat back at that event, playing with my phone, my mind was scouring the ocean beds of history, of Generals who went to wars and came out victorious and in one piece, and of those defeated, badly bruised. I remembered Hannibal, imperial Rome’s tormentor for many years. Would history have listed Hannibal among military geniuses if he had repeatedly fought and failed in his missions? And, more importantly, would he have won his wars if he had fought all battles? Should a good commander fight all battles? Shouldn’t he select his battles while focusing intently on winning the war? Would Hannibal have been celebrated in history if he had not taken his troops (and elephants) through the Alps? Would he have been able to cross the Alps if he had not been conciliatory with the Gauls through whose territory he had to pass to fulfill his destiny?

Osun Victory: Aregbesola and Civl servants

The gubernatorial election in Osun has come and gone and the good people of the State of Osun has once again decided who lead them for the next four years, but as the celebration continue across the nooks and corners of the State our observation revealed that the civil servants remain unhappy except few as they find it difficult to join the common people in celebrating the victory of the people’s governor.

Yes, while some believe that the ethic of the civil servant job does not permit them to participate in full politics but considering how the present government/administration under the leadership of Aregbesola took care of the civil servants in the State one will believe that the later should celebrate the re-election of Ogbeni than the common people.

EDE RALLY: Osun PDP Cried Out!

Osun PDP cried out last night in an urgent meeting held by their party stewards in Osogbo. The caucus meeting lambasted Adejare for fake reporting of his grip on Ede town which is against the reality on ground as confirmed by the intimidating acceptance of Aregbesola in the ancient town during his rally at Ede yesterday.

A frustrated strong PDP financier raised his voice; no, no, no way, no way! You cannot rent that kind of crowds anywhere. Ede is not what Adejare called it. We shouldn't have allowed Alhaji Adeleke to decamp. This doesn't sounds good for PDP unless we are deceiving ourselves.

My take: With this intimidating turn out of Ede rally of Governor Rauf Aregbesola and the rejected stone of the PDP, Serubawon Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, something is wrong somewhere. I thought they say Adeleke is not relevant in Edeland again.

To senator Iyiola Omisore, don't allow the sycophants to deceive you that all is well. I also saw the Osogbo crowd that welcome the governor back to Osogbo. When Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola said he is on the street, he was very sure of this assertion.

We have seen them (PDP) moving out of Osogbo the state capital daily to their campaigns without a single accolade from the ordinary people on the street. Yet they delude themselves of imaginable popularity.

This is Ogbeni on the street of Osogbo on his way from re-election rally in Ede. For a man they see everyday to still get this kind of reception from the state capital shows how much Rauf has invested in the ordinary people.

August 9 is the date when it will be finally clear to the PDP jesters that their party has gone to the dustbin of history and never again will they find any space in our consciousness.

Aregbesola: A security guard in charge of opening gate Turn Osun Governor - Omisore

I am really forced to beg the God of Aregbesola to catapult me to the top. Why?

I read in a wall just now that senator Iyiola Omisore said Aregbesola was in 1998 a security guard in charge of opening gate for members coming for the AD meetings in Ijebu Igbo.

So Aregbesola was like the biblical Mordecai who was in charge of the king's gate. But the Almighty warrior of Israel prevented the king from sleeping until he opened the book of Records and found the wonderful work done by Mordecai in it.

The bible says that the king lifted Mordecai and he became a force to reckon with in his palace.

And Aregbesola who was in 1998 a gateman now became a governor, is the lord doing.

As you are reading this post, may the Almighty God catapult you to the top of your chosen profession.

And to Otunba Iyiola Omisore, there is nothing God cannot do. Kindly refrain from those statements of yours.

Declare your manifestos to the good people of Osun State and let people judge through their votes - No Room For Rigging Please!
