As Nigerians face economic challenges as a result of dwindling revenue, mismanagement of resources - Dogara

The Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representative, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara today congratulates Nigerians as the nation marks one year in office of President Muhmmadu Buhari led APC government in in the country.

Accoding to the speaker Dogara, "today marks 17 years of uninterrupted democracy; this milestone calls for sober reflection on achievements we have since recorded, and on those things which we have been unable to."
"The 2015 general elections which produced President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR - thereby bringing the opposition party to power - shows that our democracy has matured."

"As Nigerians face economic challenges as a result of dwindling revenue and mismanagement of resources, I urge us all to remain hopeful and trust the capacity of the current government to confront and provide lasting solutions, as policies and actions of government will soon begin to yield positive results."

"It is not an easy task and we are definitely not yet there, but with hard work, commitment, dedication and patriotic zeal on the part of all citizens, and accountability, good governance and zero tolerance for corruption on the part of leaders, our democracy will deliver on its promise of improved quality of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

"As a major symbol of democracy, on our part, the House of Representatives will continue to strengthen our democratic growth and development through effective and timely legislation which will meet the needs and aspirations of Nigerians."
