Fresh: Fear hits Senate as Marafa takes over Saraki’s camp

Emerging facts indicate that the Senators loyal to Senate President, Bukola Saraki, are in a state of shock as the South-West Youth Assembly of Nigeria on Thursday, May 26, in a solidarity visit, presented to Senator Kabiru Marafa of Zamfara Central, an award of excellence.
The senator who is an unrepentant critic of Saraki, has been insisting that the leadership of the 8th Senate forged it’s standing rules.

He had identified Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, and others, as major culprits in the alleged forgery.
The group who are from the region of the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, stated that the award was for his exceptional leadership quality and support for humanity.

The group was led by its National Coordinator, Comrade Olusegun Alade, and five others, comprising young people of South-West origin in the six states of the geo-political zone.

Alade, while presenting his speech, described Senator Marafa, as a true democrat, a nationalist, elder statesman and ‎a loyal party man, who has distinguished himself.

“We are not ignorant of the remarkable courage, passion and unblemished records, it is on this note after a critical assessment of your administrative competence, leadership prowess and undiluted passion to offer solution, that we present you with this award”. Alade said.

Although, some sources have alleged that the award might be connected to the role Marafa has been playing to scuttle the leadership of the senate president.

To many, Marafa has been the eye and ear of Tinubu in the Senate.

While others said that Marafa deserved to be recognised for standing out among the crowd to oppose injustice .

Recall, that Saraki had in several occasions, ruled Marafa out for order at the floor of the hallowed chamber.

Senator Marafa, recently escaped suspension on allegation of granting spurious interview to the Punch Newspaper, with the alleged intent of casting aspersion on the senate.

In his remarks, Marafa encouraged the South-West Youth Assembly members to continue with the good work of check mating the excesses of public officials across Nigeria.

“I thank you for this recognition, I urge you to desist from demanding money from your representatives, rather hold them responsible for their promises”, Marafa said.

‎The group having existed for two decades, is poised to advocate for the common plight and development of the region and Nigeria at large.

They ‎further expressed support for the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, especially with the latest, deregulating the downstream sector, and urged Nigerians to support the Government.
