Hello our darling new media companions! Permit us to once again salute you on this very unique day after Maolud Nabiyy (SAW) holiday! We first and foremost thank Almighty God for journey mercies He granted us throughout our journey from Ilorin to Offa and finally back to Ilorin. Infact, The Lord is Great!
We promised you that we would attend the empowerment exercise of Distinguished Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, that was precisely what we did. Infact, we arrived Offa Descendant Union (ODU) Hall venue of the event as early as possible in order to formalise the necessary details that will admit us into the inner room of the event.
We had to contend with some over zealous and uncultured security operatives which comprised of the Civil Defence who were anything but civil to us. It was however the DSS operatives that quickly identified the gold abound in us, kind enough and speedily ushered us in... The hall was packed to capacity and amongst those that arrived early, though met us at the event, were the man of the moment, Senator Rafiu Ibrahim...
The Royal Fathers royally and eminently led by the Highly Esteemed Olofa of Offa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Mufutau Mohammed Gbadamasi Ilufemiloye Ajagungbade Esuwoye II... Others are, Okupo of Ajasse Ipo, Elese of Igaja, Elemona of Ilemona, Olojoku of Ojoku, Onira of Irra, Onipe of Ipe, Olusin of Isanlu Isin, Elesa of Oke Ode, Olupako of Share, Olomu of Omupo and host of other Respected Custodian of our Tradition...
The hall also had in attendance as at then, Deputy Speaker of Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Okedare, Majority Leader of the House, Hassan Oyeleke and other members of the State Legislature,.. Incuding member representing Offa/Oyun and Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Hon. Olayonu Olarinoye Tope (Danlad). Senator Bisi Oyewo, Hon. Kola Shittu, Hon. Kola Yusuf, APC Kwara South Senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Jimoh Adebayo, APC Women Leader, Hajia Sara Adebayo and others... TIC Chairmen of the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State were also present... And host of other Politicians in Kwara State too numerous to mention...
Although, the programme was slated to commense by 10:am but commenced bearly 1:pm as Senate President Saraki arrived the venue of the event by 12:4lpm precisely. Senate President Bukola Saraki arrived the venue in accompany of powerful entourage which included The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, Deputy Governor Peter Kisira, Speaker Ali Ahmad and many other political office holders of Kwara State... Amongst the Distinguished Senators of Federal Republic of Nigeria that were in the entourage of the Country number 3 citizens are, Senator Gbenga Ashafa from Lagos State, Senator Ajayi Boroffice from Ondo State, Senator Sabi Aliyu Abdullahi from Niger State, Senator Mohammed Sha'aba Lafiagi of our own Kwara State and others...
Let us now give vivid description of the events that occured! Various Youth Groups bearing banners and flexes took turns to dance in the hot scotching sun! The most notable were the yellow vests of G20 and others dressed in white, blue and some in ankara outfit. To show that the event took place in an ancient city, many local bands (bata & talking drums musicians) were also on hand to extort money seriously from people.
The drumming and movement up and down created lots of confusion, but thank God, we were later honourably ushered into the inner venue of the event. Our Camera man was deployed to the allay at the top of the hall to have vantage view of the event while the rest of the team were just below seated amongst the rest of the congregation. The beneficiaries of STEP which implies Saraki Training and Empowerment Programme were comfortably seated in the middle row and were dressed in yellow crestal vests. Our big brother, Alhaji Sulyman Kayode Yusuf (AKA Maja) would later come into the hall and seat gently at the back row of the hall, just few seats from us. Some bootlickers and psycophants were on hand to honour his presence there by going to greet him.
The event proceed wiih the citation on Senator Rafiu Ibrahim by one Abdulqadir Abdulganiy... Speeches by some stakeholders in the event equally followed...
There after, the celebrant, Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim briefly read his biography by self, applaud God Almighty... Applaud Late Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki who brought him to political limelight...
He equally showered encomium a lot on Senate President Bukola Saraki who ranked him to National Politics... As he acknowledge his supporters...
