Fatai Diekola: When the blackmailer misses his mark. By Tunji Awojide

"The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways."
- Deuteronomy 28:7

Aregbesola

I would have refrained from joining issues with Fatai Diekola Oyedele for three main reasons. First, his tirades, as far as yours sincerely is concerned, are a non-issue. So, responding in kind can only be likened to killing an ant with a sledge hammer. Secondly, even in the political configuration of Osogbo, FD, as he is fondly called, is a lightweight. For this reason, dissipating energy and time on such a petty politician is like according him an undue attention. Thirdly, and most importantly, the real succession battle has not even started. What we are currently being treated to are mere scratches. When the real battle eventually commences, I have no doubt in my mind that Rauf Aregbesola's achievements in office as Osun State governor, including those lives he has positively impacted, are capable of taking the battle to the doorsteps of his enemies.

Aregbesola: Working for the future By Kunle Oyatomi

PRESIDENT John F. Kennedy did not live to witness the final fulfilment of the most ambitious of his goals: the landing of man on the moon by the United States as he predicted.

The Soviet Union had had a head start many times over, starting with the Sputnik in 1957, and the United States saw it as a competition between "tyranny" (Moscow) and "freedom" (Washington).

Since the Soviets had not landed man on the moon, Kennedy saw such a feat as being the achievement to settle the matter once and for all. So, on May 25, 1961, the American leader went to the Congress and threw the challenge that had since changed the face of space exploration.

OSUN O’MEALS CASE STUDY: Pupils And Farmers Benefit From School Meal Programmes Around The World - KOMOLAFE

Global leaders met in London earlier this year to discuss how school meal programmes can improve educational outcomes and boost agricultural economies.
The meeting was co-hosted by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Agriculture & Food for Development and the Partnership for Child Development (PCD) from Imperial College London, which is working with governments to build the evidence base and provide technical assistance for the development of effective and sustainable home grown school feeding (HGSF) programmes. HGSF refers to school feeding programmes which procure their food from local smallholder farmers thereby supporting local rather than foreign markets.

In 2013, up to $75billion dollars was invested by the governments of 169 countries into school feeding programmes. It is estimated that for every $1 spent feeding school children, $3 are generated for the local economy.

Keynote speaker Rauf Aregbesola, Governor of Osun state in Nigeria, reported on the success of his state’s school meals programme, known as O’Meals, which feeds over 250,000 children every school day. The O’Meals programme provides employment to over 3,000 women and purchases food from over 1000 local farmers.

Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola has called on the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Abubakar to lead Nigerian Muslims in protest against the activities of Boko Haram.

According to Sun News, Aregbesola made the call while delivering a speech at the reunion lecture organised by the University of Lagos Muslim Alumni(UMA).

“””””"We must rise up and denounce the evil perpetrated by the Boko Haram sect because they are tarnishing the peaceful religion of Islam. I call on the Sultan of Sokoto to immediately lead other sincere muslims in a protest to denounce and totally reject the activities of the sect. They do not represent Islam. They are evil and wicked. We reject everything that the sect represents and our religion forbids them. They are sycophants and we cannot continue to be quiet in the face of the insecurities.””””….
