The Nigerian President has once again proven beyond doubt that his administration tolerates, pampers and breastfeeds corruption with the recent lackadaisical attitude of the government towards the recent misappropriation of funds by the Minister of Petroleum resources in the person of Deziani Alison Madueke, who has always enjoyed presidential sympathy no matter the magnitude of her crime, which is evident as she has the effrontery to embezzle with impunity.
With this scary rate of corruption in high places, a national talking galore, aka national confab is not a feasible way of addressing the plethora of problems facing the nation,the only way forward is if the proletarian class revolt vehemently against the status quo.
Allegations of corruption against officials of Jonathan administration are just too many. Menace of corruption include: The KPMG report that indicted the Nigeria National Petroleum Corportation (NNPC) for corrupt practices;
The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) audit report exposing 10 years of corruption in the upstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry; the probe of the Pension Fund Management by the Senate Joint Committee on Public Service and Establishment, State and Local Government Administration.
The Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) probe that exposed alarming revelations of corruption in the capital market; the probe of the oil subsidy regime by the Ad hoc-committee of the House of Reps; the non-prosecution of those indicted in the Halliburton LNG bribery scandal.
The Stella Oduah BMW scandal and the unsatisfactory explanation the NNPC has given for the $10.8billion of crude oil earning the Cental Bank of Nigeria (CBN) declared missing and many others raised by Sanusi before he was abruptly sacked.
Trillion of Naira in government funds have been stolen through fraud, embezzlement and theft since President Jonathan assumed office on May 6, 2010. Government officials and agencies under the watchful eyes of Jonathan frequently engage in corrupt practices with impunity, according to the United States Department of State.
You can't even remember all shorts of corrupt practices under this Jonathan administration.
The only thing that is yet to be accomplished by President Goodluck Jonathan in his transformation agenda for the country, is to 'formally lagalize corruption in Nigeria.
