NEMA provides relief materials to Internally Displaced victims of Kaduna attack

National Emergency Management Agency, on Monday, said it had dispatched relief materials to victims of Kaura Local Government attacks in Kaduna State.

The NEMA Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Musa Illalah, told newsmen in Kaduna that the relief materials were meant to cushion the plight of the displaced victims of the attack.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that unknown gunmen attacked three villages in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Friday, March 14.

Illalah said that officials of NEMA and officials from the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency, as well as the Red Cross Society had delivered relief items at the Internally Displaced Persons camps.

He listed the items delivered at the camp located at Model Primary School, Bondong, to include foodstuff, household items and clothing materials.

Other items are 200 bags of rice, 150 bags of maize, 30 bags of sugar, 200 cartons of Indomie noodles and 200 cartons of milk.

The agency also delivered 50 cartons of Milo and tea each, 200 mattresses, as well as blankets and mosquito nets.

The zonal coordinator said the agency had been facing challenges toward curbing disasters in the area, especially on incessant killings by unknown persons.

He attributed the challenges to the overwhelming and volatile situation in the area and commiserated with the communities on the loss of lives and property.

Illalah assured the displaced persons of more support as soon as possible.
