Official: Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi Installed As 14th Emir Of Kano

With all the necessary traditional rites and ceremonies concluded, the Emir of Kano, HRH, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has finally ascended to the Kano Emirate throne as the 14th emir of Kano.

Mallam Sanusi was not only on the recommended list of the kingmakers but was on top of the list presented to the Kano state Government.

To commence the coronation ceremonies of the new Emir, Gov Kwankwaso reads the full text of the letter of appointment to the new Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the 14th Emir of Kano at the African Hall of the Kano state Goverment house and the Governor handed same over to the new Emir.

The princes also pay homages to the new Emir one after the other. While the Kano State Government confirmed that the state has built a befitting building for the large family of the late emir in Sharada. The keys of which will be handed over today to the family to move in.
The ceremony which started with the opening prayers by Walin Kano Mahe Wali after which the governor of the state gave his speech.

Mr Kwankwaso condemned the level of the politicization which have trailed the appointment of the new Emir, point accusing fingers to the Federal Government for masterminding and inciting violence that followed the announcement of the former CBN governor as the Emir-Elect of the Kano emiratesystem.

In the same manner, the All Progressive Congress, APC, accused the rulling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of inciting the violence in Kano.

The PDP had yesterday in a message congratulated the first son of the late Emir Ado Bayero as the succeeding emir. The massage was later withdrawn.

The reports still has it that the Emir's Palace is still completely surrounded by the Police that are refusing all entrance or exit. It appears that Federal coercive power is being deployed to interfere with a 200 year tradition....sad.....

The AIG of Police in charge of Kano has taken over the Palace and refused the movement of the royal regalia for the coronation to Government House on orders from the Villa.

Kano has a new Emir in person of Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the former and suspended CBN Governor.
