Students who rioted last night at Bowen University, Iwo in Osun State also said there were plans to increase the tuition fee by the school authority.
"The riot was over lack of basic amenities like water and light as well as the unnecessary rules & regulations, being fronted by school management, plus plans to increase their school fees", a student said.
Properties of the school were destroyed, vehicles and their chaplain’s home was also vandalized. While the students were on rampage, the school security personnel fled but the police was eventually called in to calm things down.
“We live by rules, sleep by rules, and eat by rules, but not anymore” one student said
Bowen University is a private university owned and operated by the Nigerian Baptist Convention.

Surprisingly the school is beyond their reach.
