Updates: At least 11 people including 5 policemen killed in 2 car bomb attacks in Maiduguri today

Boko Haram hits the city of Maiduguri again with  two explosions, killing at least 11 people, including five policemen who were believed to have been targeted, police said.

Borno State Police spokesperson, Gideon Jibrin said the first attack occurred at 7:50 am when a vehicle exploded killing three civilians.  The second attack came, 10 minutes after the explosion, when a bomb was hurled at a police vehicle, killing five officers and three others. The police personnel were believed to have been targeted.

It was not immediately clear if the three others killed in the second attack were Boko Haram insurgents, he added.

Jibrin, however, could not confirm if the three others killed in the second attack were Boko Haram insurgents.
