I make a rich selection from the buffet and settle approvingly on a French wine. It's still three hours to the boarding of that flight to London and on to homeland.
The plan: enjoy a meal, and settle down to French wining while mentally visualizing the delivery of my speech, "Hating Nigeria to Greatness" at The Platform 2015 on Independence Day. Tweak the speech here and there. Envision the cadence of delivery. Envision stage management and body movement with Chris Oyakhilome's stage practice always a guide. You see, prosperity Pentecostal Pastors do have their uses after all. I spend hours watching Chris Oyakhilome's videos to learn from his uses of the stage...
When you have such grandiose pre-flight plans, do not sit in front of a flatscreen in the lounge. Your plans will be ruined.

President Buhari Named self as Nigeria’s petroleum minister, Promises to appoint a minister of State for Petroleum
President Muhammadu Buhari |
Mr. Buhari, while addressing some select reporters in New York on Tuesday, after addressing a Global Leaders’ Summit on Countering ISIL and Violent Extremism, the President said: “I wil remain Minister of Petroleum.
“I will appoint a minister of State for Petroleum”. He said, the step is being taken as part of efforts to sanitise Nigeria’s oil industry, which is said to be plagued by corruption, massive fraud, and crude oil theft.
The President who restated his determination to sanitise Nigeria’s oil industry and free it from corruption and shady deals said the first step in this direction had already been taken with the appointment of a new management for the NNPC and its subsequent reorganisation.
He added that the prosecution of those who misappropriated NNPC’s revenue under past administrations would soon commence, reaffirming his anti corruption pledge that the federal government will fight corruption, because it has been identified as the root of all problems hindering Nigeria as a nation.
Re: Nigerian Army Accuses Borno Leaders of Plotting to Prolong Boko Haram Insurgency
The army has said that ' some prominent individuals and political groups who hailed from Borno State in particular and North East generally'
I agree that no insurgency can survive this long without local support. Having said that there are many things about BH that don't make sense. They are killing Muslims as well as Christians. They have , largely, been concentrated in the North East. Why would the people of the NE support their own annihilation? Before now, I could rationalize using it to chase GEJ out of Aso Rock. If that was the goal how come BH killings is not letting off? There is more to BH than meets the eye. This is because, it is rather counter-intuitive for some leaders to unleash killing squads destructive on their own people, just to be collecting security votes and under-developing an entire region of a nation for this length of time in the 21st Century AD. There are different ways to make money; and this type of blood money is rather unthinkable for a traditional and religious society like Nigeria; don't people have a conscience anymore?
But in regard to the military statement, how do you separate "supporters" of Boko Haram from Boko Haram? It is like separating a church from the Laity! The fact is that, in the absence of the laity, there will be no church because the Priest or Bishop alone does not make a church!

The Tragedy of President Buhari’s Foreign Trips
Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has now been to Europe to meet with the heads of governments from EU Power, he has paid homage to the US president, and has joined his fellow heads of states and government in the United Nations. Each of these trips had been a disaster and brought shame to Nigeria, the Giant of Africa.
The giant of African means that these disasters are African disasters. If for no other reasons, PMB should at least understand that he is understood to be representing Africa whenever he is abroad and should not bring shame to the continent.
Each of PMB’s missteps is blamed on other people but PMB. The blame this time is on the Nigerian Mission in New York but it is wrongly placed.
Let us review some of the disgraceful behaviors during some of these trips:
