2019 IS LOADING! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
Good day to you esteemed youths and freedom agitators of Kwara State. Let us once again, use this grace to thank you for the love and affection you showed to the Chief Editor of Kwara Hero on the occasion of his 42nd birthday. Can you imagine, the Chief Editor for the first time became so emotional that he was seriously short of words. It was so unusual because the guy is so much gifted as an orator, that in any forum he finds himself, he will deliver a very comprehensive speech that will address many situations. On the occasion of his birthday, he was so unusually quiet, reserved and evasive. Some of us when the anniversary died down, finally decided to engage him and inquire "Bros, wetin do you now?".
He was quiet for a long time! His eyes were red! You would believe he had being crying because we were together all through so it wasn't sleep or drowsiness. When he finally gathered himself together and spoke, his speech there and then was what gave birth to this article you are reading this very minute.
He said, while he was writing his appreciation message, he mentioned something in that piece which had been deep down in his mind. When will we as Youths of Kwara State, be discussing issues based on its actual merit and not because one is of certain religious inclination or one originated from certain Local Government Area?
He said he has being having this burden upon his heart for the past 20 years. The funny aspect is, all those he shared this burden with, instantly dismissed it as something "IMPOSSIBLE".
Before now, Kwara has being under the leadership of a particular dynasty. That dynasty has determined and still determine what goes where, who gets what and what becomes of who! The dynasty reserved the right which is only due to Almighty God.
They dictate when we are to eat, when to sleep, when to give birth to children and further go on dictating when to die. He said today; he sees highly educated, enlightened and gifted individuals of Kwara State origin now converted into slaves and "Ole ntele Alfa" just because of what they will eat and drink. During the days of Late Baba Oloye, Kwara Politicians capitalised on the ignorance of people, the neglect of the masses by the power that be and general disenchantment with colonial leadership. Late Dr. Olusola Saraki bought his way into prominence because he did for Kwarans, what NO ONE ELSE DARED TO DO.
He said he remembered the story he heard during the height of Saraki/Lawal political feud which took place between 2000 to 2003. The story of certain central mosque in an ancient town in Kwara South. During the 2003 electioneering period, Late Retired Rear Admiral Mohammed Lawal came to the town for campaign and played the ethnic card as it were and he also dropped 2 million naira. Surprisingly, the town elders kept the money given to them by Lawal and waited patiently. They knew that another person will soon come for campaign. True to their assertion, Late Dr. Olusola Saraki drove into the town 2 days after. He met some of the elders and youths on ground, did his campaign and dropped 1 million naira.
After he left, the elders called a town meeting to deliberate on the two political sides that visited them. They wanted to know who they will pitch their tents with. While some were of the opinion that their support should be given to Lawal being the highest bidder, a very elderly man in the community reminded the entire people in the meeting about something they have forgot. He reminded them that some times in 1975, when they wanted to build the central mosque in the town and they didn't see anyone who will finance the project, Dr. Olusola Saraki heard of their plight and came personally to give them the money that completed the mosque within 4 months. The elder said, whenever work was about to stop as the money with them finished, once they just passed a message to him, he will again come personally to give them another money. The elder said today, all of us here seated with the exception of the Christians have all prayed in the mosque built by the good will of Olusola Saraki. He then asked them, will Allah receive their prayers should they decide to vote against such man.
Lawal's money was eventually returned to him. The Chief Editor of Kwara Hero observed that the reason for the so called "slavery" which Kwarans are now subjected to, has its origin to events of the past such as this. Our fathers have collected things from some people! Politicians have done somethings for our Alfas which provoked them to offering some dangerous prayers and given some dangerous blessings to them. Today, Oloye is gone! BUT A SON WHO IS NOT AS MERCIFUL AS THE FATHER IS ON THE THRONE!! A SON WHO SEES US NOT AS HUMAN BEINGS BUT AS COLLATERAL FOR LOANS!!! A SON WHO SEES KWARA STATE AS HIS PRIVATE ESTATE OR EXCLUSIVE RESERVE!!!!
To make matters worse, the youths of today are acting worse than their parents before them by subjecting themselves to the overtures of Saraki Dynasty under the captive leadership of Bukola Saraki. Looking at events since 2003 when Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki took over the mantle of leadership both as Executive Governor and Political Leader of Kwara State, can we say Kwara has been blessed or cursed? Can we actually say Bukola Saraki has led Kwara State with fear of God? Are we better off under his leadership than that provided by Late Rear Admiral Mohammed Lawal?
This just first part of the concerns of Chief Editor of Kwara Hero.
His second and biggest concern has to do with the type of youths in Kwara State today. Young boys and girls whose level of reasoning are so shallow! Individuals who refused to see beyond their noses! While in other parts of the World, Government is making life better for its citizenry, we in Nigeria are being told that living a better life is the exclusive preserve of the rich, political leaders and their anointed disciples! They have destroyed virtually all the institutions bequeathed upon them by the colonialist! They killed all our industries and production sectors! They are now preparing the stage for their own children to continue the slave driving! It was then we reflected upon the picture we used in commemorating the 54th birthday of Senate President Bukola Saraki, which is also the same picture, posted on facebook by Kwara Gong.
The picture showed Mr. Senate President along with his family cutting the 54 years anniversary cake. In the picture, we saw Seni Saraki, son of Senate President Bukola Saraki, who has now grown just as tall as his father. We then started to think! Seni is now the Chairman of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) football club. We saw beyond that lowly placement! We saw that slowly and steadily, the boy is being groomed by his father to takeover the mantle of leadership! While our fathers and we youths of Kwara are yet chanting Sai Leader! Sai Leader!! Oloye!!! The middle aged man is already preparing the line of succession as strategically done by his Late father before him. We felt so bitter that the so called major opposition party in Kwara State, People's Democratic Party (PDP) is so confused and docile to protend any hope for salvation. Where are their Aspirants? While the great political strategist, Olubukola Saraki is busy strategically establishing his political hold, they are no where to be seen.
They have left Kwara citizens at the mercy of Saraki, but will only come quarter to elections to begin to make noise and disturbing the peace and tranquillity in the State of Harmony. WELL, WE DON'T BLAME THEM, IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT! NO BE YOUTHS TURNED THEMSELVES INTO MUMU, WHO THEY CAN BUY WHENEVER THEY LIKE! Let us tell you The Youths of Kwara State, 2019 is the year that will determine whether your children will have a future or they will be enslaved again for another 3 decades. Seni Saraki is already approaching 25 years! Once Bukola Saraki is able to impose his candidate for another eight years again; it will imply that you have no choice other than to likewise chant Sai Leader! Sai Seni!! Sai Leader!!! Sai Seni!!! For his son! The question now is, ARE YOU ALSO NOT CREATED THE SAME WAY AS SENI? WHAT MAKES OLASENI MORE QUALIFIED FOR LEADING KWARA STATE THAN YOU? The biggest problems we have in this State are the old and established politicians such as the likes of Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem, Dele Belgore, Simeon Sule Ajibola, Yinka Aluko, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, Lola Ashiru, Yinusa Yahya and others. These are the people who we can call "QUARTER TO GO POLITICIANS".
We are now in 2017, they will come back home by 2018 and start making unnecessary noises all over the places! BY 2019, PROFESSOR SHUAIB OBA ABDULRAHEEM WILL BE 71 YEARS! WHAT ARE YOU STILL LOOKING FOR AGAIN? The pity is, some youths who are not thinking straight will be following this old man because of the small change that they want to make from him. SINCE YOU GUYS HAVE BEING FOLLOWING THESE POLITICIANS, HOW BETTER HAS YOUR LIFE BECOME? SINCE YOU HAVE BEING SUPPORTING THESE MONEY BAGS, HOW HAVE THEY MADE YOUR LIFE BETTER? ARE YOU NOT ONLY BEEN USED TO PERPETUATE THEIR STAKE POLITICALLY AFTER WHICH THEY DROPPED YOU LIKE USELESS ELEMENT IN VIEWING YOU AS LIABILITY! It is high time for the Youths of Kwara to have a rethink! You must decide to as youths, stop blindly supporting any of these old established politicians, both in the ruling and opposition camps, because they are thieves and rogues! Bunch of those established politicians in the opposition camp are not better than Bukola Saraki.
Infact, many of them are worse than Bukola Saraki, it is only because they haven't had the opportunity to be in power. Kwara Youths must stop thinking of supporting any of these old cargoes! They are calling themselves FREEDOM AGITATORS OR FREEDOM FIGHTERS! WHOSE FREEDOM ARE THEY FIGHTING FOR? WHOSE FREEDOM ARE THEY AGITATING FOR? A freedom fighter is a very selfless person! How can they be claiming that title and yet be as selfish as they are... Ilyas Babatunde Lawal will never forget how he was eating corn with Major General Buhari during his days and times in Congress for Progressive Change (CPC)! He will never forget how he resigned his appointment then as Federal Civil Servant just to make the Change come to reality! Ilyas Babatunde Lawal, since 2003 till 2015, you followed the man faithfully, keeping his chair, standing between him and the bullets of the assassins. HOW DID HE REPAY YOU? Youths must now start thinking about how NEW BREEDS WILL EMERGE FROM AMONGST THEM? THE NEXT EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF KWARA STATE COME 2019, MUST BE A YOUNG MAN, A DE-POLITICIZED, DE-TRIBALISED AND A DE-RELIGIONISED INDIVIDUAL! The older generation has played politics with our future for damn too long!
They have used tribal, religious and sentimental issues to divide the youths of this State for too long. Kwara Youths, you never witnessed free education, free school feeding, massive employment and better life! It is simply because, those who had that privilege are not willing to let you taste it! You must know, you will never receive this privilege on "A PLATTER OF GOLD". UNTIL YOU REQUEST FOR IT WITH COMMITMENT AND TAKE IT FORCEFULLY IF NEED BE..... IT WILL NEVER BE GIVEN TO YOU FREELY... A freedom activist once said "freedom is never freely given by the oppressor, but demanded for by the oppressed". Kwara Youths need to know the bitter truth! What does the likes of Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem, Mohammed Dele Belgore, Simeon Sule Ajibola, Ahmed Yinka Aluko, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, Yissa Lola Ashiru, Yinusa Yahya and so on now have to offer Kwara State? Where have they been? What does Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem have to contribute to your future? What does Mohammed Dele Belgore have to contribute to your future? What does Simeon Sule Ajibola have to contribute to your future? What does Ahmed Yinka Aluko have to contribute to your future? What does Abdulrazak Abdulrahman have to contribute to your future? What does Yissa Lola Ashiru have to contribute to your future? What does Yinusa Yahya have to contribute to your future? Are they not just attempting to enslave us too, the way Saraki dynasty is currently doing?
If Kwara State is to be truly emancipated from the hands of our political overlord, it is you, Kwara Youths who has the capability to pull this off. We must stop supporting all these politicians; both those in government and those in the opposition. None of them clamouring for power under the pretext of "LIBERATION FOR KWARA" will eventually remember you after they achieve their aims! Tunde Aluko, since when has anyone in the Saraki dynasty remembered you? How long will you continue to depend on their mercy and chicken change when their children celebrate birthday bashes in Bourge Khalifa in Dubai!
These old cargoes and established politicians only care about themselves and their family's welfare..... Go round the streets of Ilorin! Are they not the owners of the best houses, shopping complex, filling stations, hotels and estates? Are they not the ones using millions to celebrate the marriages of their children while some of you went months without being paid? You must prepare yourselves to lay claim over the governing affairs of Kwara State, come 2019. Prior to that, you should begin to place yourselves forward starting with the upcoming Local Councils Elections in Kwara State.
Who said you don't have the ability to direct the affairs of your local government Kamaldeen Toyin, Tejidini Abdulwasiu Olayinka,Tunji Idris, Ayodeji Saheed, Ilufoye Bolaji Azeez, Heebraheem Heessah, Agaka Yusuf, Oba Ismail... Kayode Ogunlowo, Suleman Gbale, Naseerdeen Abubakry and others... Do you think these people you are following chanting their names actually reckon with you? Are they God? They are nothing but luciferous elements the whole lot of them! They are nothing but agents of stagnation! They have betrayed the trust of the youths at every avenue! It is high time for the youths now to bring their own train and ride on it! How many of those politicians, both in governance and in opposition actually appreciate your talent and worth? Are they not the one who will tell you to wait for your time? So, when will your time actually come? Is it when you are 70 years of age like Professor Oba Abdulraheem?
2019 is fast approaching! Soonest, they will start calling you, after they have abandoned you for years! Recently, our attention was drawn to a conflict between Sholyment Olusegun Olusola and Kayode Ogunlowo on the new media. Why are you people fighting because of these old cargoes? While these young men were fighting, it is a pity that non of the politicians clamouring for power under the pretext of liberation intervene to settle the rift between them.
None of these REKNOWN FREEDOM AGITATORS AND SINGER OF FREEDOM FOR KWARA showed any concern! So, Dele Belgore has no aides who are conversant with events on social media? So, Professor Oba Abdulraheem, with you being a prodigious academician, yet, you underestimated the social media? Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, you have the believe that events on social media are nothing but noise? Simeon Ajibola, so after you have woefully lost in 2015 Governorship Elections, all your social media agents are no more functioning to update you about the happenings on the new media? Yinka Aluko, you that is personally active and operating your own facebook account and constantly active online, will you claim that you are not aware of the quarrel which occurred between Sholyment Olusegun Olusola and Kayode Ogunlowo? WE HAVE THIS NEWS FOR YOU! The agitation on social media has now converted into a physical struggle, so clearly defined and organised that will sweep the entire state. JUST WAIT AND SEE!

We only met and shook hands with you during the 10 years memorial of Late Rear Admiral Mohammed Lawal as we graced the occasion in honour of the Late Former Governor of Kwara State and proponent of Kwara Liberation. Chief Gbenga Adeoti, it was only you amongst our elders, who showed concern enough to prompt you into mediating between Sholyment Olusegun Olusola and Kayode Ogunlowo. Though, Kayode Ogunlowo was not on ground at the mediation venue, but was represented by Naseerdeen Abubakir. Chief Gbenga Adeoti, inspite of your busy schedule, you took time off to personally come to Ilorin, just to mediate between these two social media heavy weight.

YOUR ACTIONS SHOWS THAT YOU ARE A LOVER OF PEACE! YOUR ACTIONS SHOWS THAT YOU ARE A LOVER OF KWARA YOUTHS! The person who dissapointed us the most in this whole episode is ALHAJI LAI MOHAMMED. Just because you are currently in office as Minister, should not be the reason why you ostracised yourself from events within your State. The Sarakite camp always maintained that you are a foreigner and you simply confirmed it via your inactions and silence. Do you want us to believe that neither you or any of your aides are unaware of the sustained social media campaign currently on in Kwara State? Saraki who is under serious attack, made attempts howbeit indirectly to placate the anger of the social media users and young freedom agitators!
WHILE BUKOLA SARAKI IS SLOWLY, SILENTLY AND CONSISTENTLY REACHING OUT TO HIS PERCEIVED ANTAGONISTS, YOU LAI MOHAMMED KEPT MUTE AND IRRESPONSIVE! SARAKI HAS NOW CLOSED RANKS WITH PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI AND HE HAS STARTED REACHING OUT TO THOSE GIVING HIM PROBLEMS IN KWARA WHILE YOU ARE BASKING IN THE EUPHORIA OF BEING APPOINTED AS MINISTER. ARE YOU AWARE THAT YOU COULD BE REMOVED AT ANYTIME? What you have done implies no one in your State is good enough or qualified enough for the job or probably, you are having an "intimate" connection with the individual. We leave you to your conscience, but we are seriously no longer impressed with your attitude! Alhaji Lai Mohammed, you further confirmed yourself as non Kwarans when you recently attended the South West APC elders meeting which was held last week in Ibadan. Though as Kwarans, we are Largely Yorkers. But zoning has cheated us! As Yorubas, we are proud of our source and ancestry. BUT... politically, we are zoned under North Central which makes us a bonafide member of Northern Nigeria and North Central Geo-Political zone. Though, we may not pleased with this arrangement, many of us have come to accept it as our political cross. So, the APC South West caucus meeting which you attended outrightly confirmed that you are not truly representing Kwara State as being touted by many people.
KWARA YOUTHS! KWARA YOUTHS!! KWARA YOUTHS!!! You need to wise up and give yourselves brain! Who amongst these set of politicians is worthy of our trust? They leave all the hardwork to you children of perceived ordinary citizens of Kwara. But with all your hardwork, you are never considered for anything worthwhile. It is time you use your strength, agility and dynamism for a movement that will pay you! You must realise that all these old men will be analog in disposition by 2019. Look at our dilemma with Buhari. Mr. President rode on the backs of youths to become President. You can ask Ilyas Babatunde Lawal to tell you what transpired and he will tell you his experience. T
he usual profile is, they will shut you out of governance as part of their first actions in office. By 2019, Professor Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem will be 71 years! By 2019, Senator Simeon Sule Ajibola will be 66 years! By 2019, Architect Lola Ashiru will be 64 years! By 2019, Yinusa Yahya will be 61 years! By 2019, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak will be 59 years! Kwara Youths need to realise that these set of old cargoes and established politicians have nothing to offer you other than that selfish desire to taste power and continue the slavery that the Saraki dynasty has instituted. If any of those old cargoes and established politicians still wishes to seek political office, let them go to National Level to contest the post of President of Nigeria, then as Kwarans, we will give them our outright support. The rebuilding of Kwara State should be left in the hands of young men and new breeds of people.

You must be aware that in accordance with the 1999 Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria, which is the effective one; 40 years is the age which qualifies a person to run for the post of President of Nigeria, while at the age of 35 years, you are eligible to contest for Governor of your State.
In 2019, we recommend that the governance team in Kwara State be composed of individuals who are not older than 48 years of age. We want to see young men burning with bright ideas and not old men whose brains has retired.
