Boko Haram: Former British PM Gordon Brown Wants Western Governments to Support Nigeria Militarily

Former British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, who is now a UN special envoy on education, has led calls for Western governments including Britain offer military assistance to Nigeria.

According to him, Islamist Militant has constituted itself as a major security threat to the  Nigerian state and that the western countries including Britain should help Nigeria militarily to fight off the militias once and for all.

The Nigerian President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has said in a media chat that Nigeria Government is collaborating with the Western Governments including USA in the area of intelligent gathering but has not in any way request and allow the direct foreign military intervention in the fight against the insurgency.

The president added that most of the Nigeria problems, including civil war were all resolved locally and vows that Nigeria will surely overcome the menace of Boko Haram. 

The Leader of the dreaded group Boko Haram terrorists, Abubakar Shekau has claim responsibility for the abduction of the school girls in Borno, north-eastern state of Nigeria. 

The truth is that the western government can really help by stopping the inflow of weapons into Africa and the Al-Qauda linked group that have taken arms against the government of Nigeria.

Most of the weapons carried by the terrorists are all produced in the west. There are allegations that foreign powers were responsible for sponsoring the Boko Haram in the country.
