Brazil head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has chosen his squad for the upcoming World Cup finals, making a pretty straightforward selection.
With the World Cup just 35 days away, the hosts’ squad has been officially selected with the obvious inclusions of Neymar, David Luiz, Hulk, Oscar and Thiago Silva. Queens Park Rangers’ goalkeeper Julio Cesar, who is out on-loan, has also been selected alongside Jefferson and Victor in the goalkeeping department.
In terms of the biggest stars, the likes of Dante, Ramires, Paulinho, Dani Alves and Fred have all been selected with no real surprises in the squad. One of Liverpool’s midfield duo of Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho were thought to be in contention for a spot in Scolari’s squad, but he has instead chosen Chelsea’s Willian and Manchester City’s Fernandinho.
Willian was thought to be the direct rival to Coutinho for a place. Meanwhile, Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has been left out with late rumours suggesting that he was in contention.
